I got a warning about a backdoor:
defender: warning about Backdoor:Win32/IRCbot!!!
Kaspersky- clean
adaware - clean
super anti spyware - clean
virustotal - 3 hits:
http://www.virustotal.com/de/analisis/ebe699440fdf33117d61bb043cc2d3f62dd020bd2b439d0ad114339f77e4169a-1263216971I think it's a false positive, as all the "main" security programmes didn't find anything. On the other hand, I remember that there were some problems with another Sandlot game - Glyphe - before.
Sorry, that I post it so late, it seems that a snowman likes skipping rope with my DSL-cable. Since some days I have very annoying on/off problems - more than usual :P

I came through clean. Then again, Glyph didn't get tagged either. I use Avira Free.

Here's a review of the game; I had it before from Gamehouse and liked it; even better with no ads!

Comodo (free Internet Security suite) didn't find anything for me on this one, but it reacted to the Glyph \bin\prog.exe file very strongly. Virustotal for Word Monaco had 3 hits; Virustotal for Glyph had 22 hits:
http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/forums/topic/6554/page/2#post-68200
Sandlot's response on the Glyph hits was that it was a problem with users' AV programs, which may be true, but I was disappointed in their lack of concern, and wound up uninstalling the game. (I know, I need to figure out Comodo's confusing and well-hidden procedure for submitting possible false positives.)

It's a shame you uninstalled Glyph. I thought it was a neat game. I did finally complete it.

This reminds me of a similar shareware game that has been around a long time that I've always liked called "Word Solitaire". It's written by an individual programmer in Visual Basic and is/was slightly buggy, but I think those of you who like word games should at least take a look.
The website is haversack.com

Windows Defender gave me the same warning, although my AV, Avast, did not. It's odd, because Windows Defender has never flagged anything before. I contacted Sandlot and they said that Defender "is probably giving you a false positive reading on either the game’s DRM or the Sandlot Games Client that is used for global score posting." I think I'll go ahead and install Word Monaco, as I have played it before and like it, and I think Sandlot's downloads can probably be trusted. Of course, that's two "probably" 's I'm relying on :)

The same thing happened to me. Windows Defender gave me a back door warning and would not let me install the file. The first time I think Windows Defender ever came up.

I seem to remember someone looking for extra levels for Super Slyder. (Was it you, Graylox?) Anyway, they can be downloaded from:
http://www.sandlotgames.com/w5/free_levels/super_slyder.html
Free levels are on the Neighborhood menu at the top of the Sandlot Games home page. So far, the only game we've had free that has extra levels available is Super Slyder, but if you have some of the Super Granny or Westward games from other sources, you can access free levels through Sandlot Connect (also on the Neighborhood menu).

Thanks for the reminder Delilah. Looks like a tower defense game and I often enjoy them.

I got this via Steam some months ago and the kids love it. Yes you're right, it's a tower defence game. I'll get a second copy seeing as they and their froends like to play this game quite a lot, but only one can play it at a time because of it being on steam. (I think Monster Mash is a great alternative to one of the best tower defense games around (Defense Grid: The Awakening)

I got the unlock code for monster mash but i can't find any link to download this game. Do you have any idea?
Posted 14 years ago # -
The download link is on the same page where the unlock code is given. It's also in your emailed receipt of the game.

Thanks for the quick reply:) However, the Monster Mash link in my purchase order email is passive and leads me to nowhere :( It is the same with the the download link on the same page where the unlock code is given. I wonder why they didn't put any download link on the game's main page.

Hi Foodengineer, I had the same problem when I downloaded the first game that was posted here several weeks ago; so just re applied for another and got a second activation code and made sure I downloaded the game file as well the second time around. You can always pass on the second activation code to a friend :)
The link is at the bottom of the same page you get the activation code from.

Thanks Delilah.
Here's a review and another smaller one (with a detailed walkthrough lower down on the page if anyone needs detailed help). Finally, here are some tips and tricks that may be helpful most players.
All in all, this looks pretty mediocre.

Thanks to Delilah and Campy, here are some pics from the Sandlot site:

You are right, there are nicer games. I got this one some time ago and it is one of the games I never came back to.

My daughter loves this game, though we are having problems activating the game using the licence we were given. Anyone else had problems?
Posted 14 years ago # -
WR, the only time I've had problems activating Sandlot games was when I forgot to run the game from their shortcut, which calls in this case EyeforDesign.exe, which brings up their... gamebox?... with the Play and Activate tabs. But once I get to that point, and paste in the activation code, it's always worked for me.
p.s. Tried to PM you but got that message that either my Outbox or your Inbox is full.

Thanks for the reminder Delilah. Got it, but I think this one is going to have a hard time competing with Ricochet Infinity for my brick busting attention.
Posted 14 years ago # -
Yeah, the Ricochet series does look like more fun. Thanks for the tip, Campy.
