Terri, give it another go. I just got it now on Sandlot for $3.49 US.

Got it Nola, thanks. There wasn't time to demo it so it's the first time I bought a game without trying it first. I almost had a heart attack, when I went to get my credit card (that I used this afternoon) I couldn't find it. Thankfully it had fallen to the bottom of my purse. Now I'm too wound up to sleep. What a stressful day! But mostly stressful in a good way.

Guess what, I just won the other game I wanted to buy "Iron Roses". First time I ever won one of those contests.
Posted 15 years ago # -
I saw that game on gamehouse. I didn't like what people had to say about it or I would have looked into it further. Though I am glad won the game you wanted to buy.

This week's free game is Pirate Island, a match-3 with a few twists, and a great sense of humor. Definitely doesn't take itself too seriously (I mean with dancing skeletons, how could it?) And my first trophy is the "Globe of Dubious Accuracy."
And no virus messages!

Thanks graylox
I have this game already from RA, it is/was, lol,(GH/RA mess)...called "Treasure Island" on their site.
McAfee quarantines mine on my Desktop, but not on my Laptop, go figure...I might just load this one to my Desktop and see what happens when McAfee runs it's scan!
I like Sandlot's new deal, but only care to download some of them. I also like the fact that the games are in your account with the reg codes for re-download.
I hope this doesn't affect Gotd, because we get some quirky ones that the bigger portals wouldn't touch!
Take care, Suki

This new game is a bit unusual for a match-3. You don't swap positions or shift rows/columns. you replace a piece with whatever you last replaced. You have to do a bit more thinking to GET the right piece for the match you want to make next.
I think the dancing skeletons are cute. Green Mohawk haircut?????? :))))
Also - I appreciate the title of this thread changing to match the game each week but I think you need to remove the word "racing". It's not a racing match-3, it's just a match-3.

LOL - maybe a dancing match 3 ?

Everyone don't forget to get it, it is free this week and the good thing about this is I think you can install the game as many times as you need to. I think you own the game. It is nice of Sandlot to do this. Thank you Sandlot games.
I wasn't going to get this but I enjoy it a lot. It's different from other match 3 games.

Sandlot's free game this week is Cake Mania. Not for me; I avoid anything with words like Mania or Frenzy in the title, as I find quite enough of that in "real" life. Ditto for the whole Time Management genre. But for those who do enjoy it, this game is free this week. And yes, Sandlot gives you an activation code, and an email receipt, just like "buying" a free game with a coupon at other commercial game sites.

Thanks, Delilah.

Since Sandlot doesn't have that many games they offer, maybe soon they'll give us Mortimer Beckett. I would love that.
Posted 15 years ago # -
I got Cake Mania free from Amazon a few months ago. I think I'll bypass it here.
Posted 15 years ago # -
So did I, but I don't like amazon's game manager or whatever you call it. I have problems with it. I bought all the other Cake Mania games off Real. I really like Cake Mania Main Street.

Sandlot's free game this week is Super Granny: Winter Wonderland:
http://www.sandlotgames.com/w5/super_granny_winter_wonderland.html
I've been curious about this series; it sounded kinda cute, so now I get to check it out for free, thanks to Sandlot Games. I don't know how far I'll get, as I don't do real well with keyboard controls, but there's a great tutorial, and help for the KB controls, powerups, traps, enemies, etc. Enemies like dogs, for example. So far, poor Granny gets knocked down whenever we encounter... oh, horrors, not DOGS again!
The download's a manageable size, and looks like it's taking up only 10.9 MB installed. Enjoy!

Thank you, thanks for these games sandlot.
Posted 15 years ago # -
Oh heck yes! lol I love the Super Granny series! Not a bad platforming/puzzle series.

Thanks for the "head's up" on Sandlot's free weekly give away. Is the current game of the week always listed on the main page? Thanks.

Shockwave is offering the same game today for $.99. Why would you want to buy it there when you can get it here for free?

That's a neat little game. It says you can download more levels but there don't seem to be any available. The level editor is a nice feature, though and I like having the mini-tutorials along the way as you meet new "characters". :] It's not timed and doesn't even seem to be scored - just solve each level. You can take your time to think through before you start.
It's a good thing it doesn't limit you to the number of "lives". With the "Ceiling Tiles", you're literally traveling blind!

Security Advisory: When you set up an account with Sandlot Games, they ask for your Date of Birth. I consider that a security risk. (Having both email and DOB is a good start for identity theft.) I can understand companies wanting ages, or age ranges, for marketing purposes, or to verify that one is of legal age to be doing business with them, but they don't need Date of Birth for that. I strongly encourage anyone who encounters this type of request to... well, use your imagination!

Delilah, perhaps one could use a fake DOB. It would confirm the user is at least 18 years old, yet maintain their privacy.
