   I'm now playing 3 different games and I'm stuck on all of them. The walkthroughs are written by people who have already solved it so they make it sound so easy and I don't know what they are talking about.

   Yes Nancy Drews DO seem to need a lot of back and forthing to solve them...
   One day they will figure out how to make the files smaller, I'm sure, though!

   They DO make it sound so easy or maybe it's bacause most of them have played the games 1000 times..
   so to THEM it IS easy..

   I actually will have to start the Nancy Drew again as I made a huge error and didn't "save" before, and the walkthrough actually gave misleading information so I was more confused AFTER I read it..lol.
   Oh well....

   The site hasn't updated today and they are still showing yesterday's game as today's. I hope it's just a mistake and they are not discontinuing the promotion.

   I just checked and it's OK on the main page.

   Today's is a HOG Interpol 2. I almost uninstalled it because I couldn't get past the first investigation but after two failures to beat the level, it gave me the option to skip to the next level. I've been doing OK since that point.

   Quite late last night (US Pacific time) the GameHouse site was down for "scheduled maintenance" according to the message where the home page should be. Now, having downloaded today's free game, Gold Rush - Treasure Hunt, I find that it is a one-hour trial. (It's also still listed as tomorrow's free game.) Has anyone else downloaded this game and found the usual full, ad-supported game? I didn't see any notice on-site about a change in policy regarding the free games.

   This is so very weird. I just went to download the game, but AVG refused to let me access the page. A big red warning box came up that I've never seen before. It said I could over-ride the warning, but it wasn't recommended. Well, having always trusted GameHouse, I told it to ignore the warning, but it STILL wouldn't let me see the page. I know GameHouse can be trusted, so I'll check again later. *&:-o

    I saw the same game offered both times too, weird..

    midori, that is pretty strange; did it download ok after a while?

    You're right, Merri. I just tried downloading Gold Rush again, and it now is an "unlimited time trial", as usual. I guess the previous discrepancies were just products of the site maintenance they were doing. I'm glad, because I love those free games! I at least try almost all of them.

    Yes, I have a weakness for games(especially adventure and HOG'S!
    LOL!
    Terri, that is odd, did you try, "refreshing, " the page and emptying your cache etc???
    strange if so..

    Hi Terri, it is on the Gamehouse front page, on the left hand side, under the area that says,
    "Customize menus, click here"
    Under the little picture of the game, it says. "Tomorrow's free game"
    Which is, "Coyote's Tale"
    Hope that you can see it?

    Of to work ...

    Odd, but AVG still won't let me see the page. I've never had to turn it off before to access anything. So strange. But I guess if your computers haven't blown up it's a false alarm. But never had the big red box before. Do either of you happen to use AVG? But I'll assume it's safe so I don't miss a game!

    Hey Midori - I use AVG also, and I am unable to bring up the gamehouse site. I actually received a message this morning that that it was a pfishing site and I went ahead and clicked on the proceed. The site came up but only had about half a page (the whole middle was black) and when I clicked on anything it never came up for me to view. Hope they get it fixed soon, I miss my games.

    Although I DID wonder as my computer was off when I got home just now..but it was a windows update which happened when I was away..
    I have Avast which I like better than AVG(which I had before)
    midori and wjs;
    OH no about not being able to even access the site..
    (It reminds me of when Bigfish was supposedly releasing virus ridden games; remember that? It was about a year ago. It turned out to be a false positive.
    Hope that things get sorted out!

    Hi All, I just found that I had to go into Firefox and run as administrator in order for the Gamehouse page to come up. This worked for me and I can now download games from the site again.

    Thanks a bunch, wjs! Was glad to hear it wasn't just "my computer." And I got the same thing when I tried to cross it... a black screen with a few things around the sides. I'll check the administrator thing right now, as I do use Firefox. :)

    *sigh* Okay, wjs, I'm gonna have to ask for your help again. Where do you set yourself up as the administrator? I've looked in Options in all the tabs, and did a search in the knowledgebase but nothing comes up pertaining exactly to that. Maybe I'm just tired and bleary-eyed (which I am today), but would appreciate your direction. Thanks in advance. 8-|

    Midori, right click on the firefox icon - you will see run as administrator as an option; click this and it will ask you to confirm. That's all it takes.

    I was able to download it successfully but it was slow. It's a pretty large file.

    The font on the dialog even in full window mode is teeny tiny. The game seemed good but it crashed on me right away. I'll give it one more try.

    I like that you can switch between a list or an icon of the hidden objects but it keeps crashing on me (at least now it is lettine me get back to my desktop). I have yet to be able to play one of the mini-games. Oh well, at least I didn't pay for it.
