If you do make the decision to uninstall any of them, make sure you use The "Fantastic'Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Uninstall Software, Remove Programs, Solve uninstall problems . It's the best.

Thank you for posting that. I tried to download and install the freebies of the day from Gamehouse several times many months back, and even after going back and forth with their tech support people, was never able to get any of their games to install - either from Firefox OR IE - they always got hung up at the "select folder to download to" stage, and would never let me select a folder, and so, wouldn't install. I just found Gamehouse in the IE restricted site list, removed it, and voila! It looks like everything works now.
Someone really should tell those folks in the Gamehouse tech support about this, apparently they weren't aware of it. Wish I'd seen this months ago, they had several games that I would have loved to download but knew wouldn't work, so I never bothered. :( Oh well, at least it works now. :)

This is yet another game I bought when it was released - my first love (for arcade games) is breakout/arkanoids; so can fully agree with Chronopie. A bonus with Hyperballoid 2 is that it comes with an easy to use levels editor, so if you're feeling creative you can create your own, then upload them to a page that Alawar have created for the purpose. There are already some custom made levels available (not got the exact url to hand, but if you go to Alawars Hyperballoid 2 page there should be a link somewhere. There's also a page devoted to the editor just in case you do have problems using it:
It comes in four flavours so it's almost like getting four 'similar' but graphically different games. It's a massive improvement on the original hyperballoid which I personally found very slow, even with the game set to hardest (which speeded the balls up).

WR, you mentioned Call of Atlantis, somewhere, sometime back. I finally got the free trial of it just the other day. I liked that game so much I downloaded/installed as many free trials from different vendors as I could to finish the game...lol.

Few of the freebies from Gamehouse made me some kind of troubles.I know that they come with an advertisemend,but I expected that it shows once and that's it.But no-even last one,which I like pretty much-Hypperballoid 2,shows this %$#@#$% when it loads every single next level!!!Tell me,friends,that it shoudn't be like that.Tell me it's my mistake and show me where I am wrong.

Yes, they do appear regularly in every game that I've downloaded from Gamehouse, and maybe the ad's are timed because they appear every 2 or 3 levels of Hyperballoid 2 for me.

For me the ad frequency varies per game. I downloaded Hyperballoid 2 when GameHouse offered it the first time and I got an ad after every level too. I liked the game so much that I ended up buying it... but not from GameHouse coz I didn't want to reward them for annoying the hibbydibbies out of me!

g@rgoyle - I'm not that lucky; the ad frequency does vary per game for me too and gets frustratingly irritating at times.
But I don't have money to spend on these types of games, and so I grit my teeth and try to be grateful that I'm able to play them for nothing.

Today's free game at Gamehouse is a HOG called Detective Agency..
It apparently has mixed reviews, but good graphics.

Idon, the ad frequency is somewhat annoying, but even more annoying is the frequency of the same ad. I saw the ad for Rhythm Heaven SOOOO many times while playing either 4 Elements or Enchanted Caverns. At first I liked it, and would have considered getting it if I had the player, but after viewing it over, and over, and over again, and subsequently going into Mute (turning off the volume...lol), I decided against it. I don't mind periodic ads, but too many, and the same one over-shown, just kills it for me.
Merri, I don't know if I am going to get Detective Agency, or not. 'Course, even if I do there is no telling how long it will be before I get around to playing it. Right now, I am BIG into match-3's. Not too long back I exhausted 4 Elements, and then Enchanted Caverns (which is hard to beat on Hard mode - can't get past one level in 3). I am currently replaying Luxor: Amun Rising - the 'dinosaur' I recently dusted off on my computer, and decided to have another go at, even though I've played it, and won it, to death...lol.

Okay Merri, just for the heck of it, I got Detective Agency, and had barely gotten started in it, and came to a screeching halt. I got stuck on the mini game with the buttons, and can go no further. The music is kind of nice, though. I will probably end up deleting the game. No point in keeping it if I can't go any further with it. ;)
I like the games that will allow you to skip the mini games those mini games; Enchanted Cavern allows you to do that.

Hi All,
I'm having a problem downloading the free download games from Gamehouse to my Laptop. I tried to get Detective Agency yesterday and Jumping Jack today but no go. I deleted the temp files and history etc but no go. I get as far as step 1 and then when you click on next nothing happens and everything freezes and I have to have Task manager end task.I'm not too computor savvy so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

RosnSC - one can skip the button game because that's exactly what I did; however I can't remember exactly what actions I took although I'm fairly sure it was just a simple click on a button to skip it.

That button puzzle really annoyed me. I had a perfect solution but the game wouldn't recognize it. You have to match THEIR solution. I used the walkthrough and got through it. I'm not too crazy about this game.

RosnSC - I've played through to the next mini-game and what one does is click on the help button; at the bottom of that pop-up window is a "Skip this game" option.

If you haven't seen "today's only" free trial at Gamehouse, you're missing out on a finely-crafted Platformer! "JUMPIN' JACK" has a nice gameflow and is VERY easy to play. The animations on the "cuteness" scale are almost on par with the work we've come to expect from by Disney + Pixar.
By all means, it's "A Game for All the Family".

I was in the middle of playing Detective Agency last night when the game encountered an error & shut down on me! Grrr.....I was halfway through & didn't save. I'm afraid to try playing it again only to have that happen a second time.
Terri, I never even knew there WAS a clicking sound. LOL. I keep my computer's sound off completely 90% of the time I'm online.

That's what's so annoying - I have to wear my uncomfortable earbuds. I wouldn't mind if it only clicked when you found the object, but it has all these strange noises when you are around other objects. BTW if you find the object but click somewhere else, your hint goes back and is ready for use again. You can save hints but I find the magnifying glasses are very easy to find so it probably doesn't matter much.

I also play lexulous at facebook and get cranky if I don't get a chance to play..lol.
I LOST my 4 elements game quite a while ago(but if they offer it again, have all the data saved so could go from about the middle; I was quite enjoying it!
Did you find out how to skip?
I prefer games that allow that too..

I've never heard of lexulous, but then I don't mess with Facebook except on rare occasions IF one of my contacts/friends on there 'writes on my wall'.
Speaking of losing 4 Elements, I may be losing mine, as well, and a whole lot more to boot. My main computer - the Compaq I had all that trouble with a few months ago - is giving me problems again, though not the same ones. I've noticed a difference in its performance here lately, but didn't bother to check it for mal/adware. I used it just last evening, or maybe around midnight, deleting just game duplicates off of it. I don't know what happened but something did, and now I can't do 'jack' with it. I tried running the System Recovery, and that's not even running right. It doesn't complete the process. I'm going to have to have my son pick up my software from our house when he gets off work this afternoon (it's Tues. the 18th, 2:12 am, here). I have to have him pick up a sewing machine power cord that got left there, also.

I just about to download Neptune's Story.
I have about half of, "3 cards to midnight" ,left(I am a VERY slow player..lol)
For some reason the little "movies" sound is all garbled so I simply skip over those parts..
(I THINK this was an issue with this game, I should read what others were saying, at Big fish)

Hey guys, I can't get Neptune's Secret to download. First it comes up with "Find" and "Save" instead of "Open" and "Save" and when I click on "Find" it takes me over to Real website! If I put save it downloads a tiny file with a RGI (I think?) extension which is the extension for Real Programs. Any ideas? I really don't want to miss this one. 2sweetcamom

Hiya Merri. About the Lexulous - gotcha...;). About the computer - I think something is getting overheated due to the tower needing to be dusted out. We can run it all day long, but at night time when it has to be restarted for some reason that's when it acts up. My son is going to bring our air compressor nozzle attachment home, and we will (gently) blow the dust out, like the last time I had trouble with it. Hopefully that is all it will need to get it working like it is supposed to.
