It's not a common object, so, unless your up to date with technology, you may not guess what it is. The original photo was low res, hence the artifacts in the image.

Games Guruokay my first 3 clues (I think you're going to need at least three because this isn't something you can buy off the shelf yet); you could place several of them on your thumbnail (In fact the object is on someones thumbnail, though thumbnail would be a red herring) and it's electronic (you can see a little of the material (SRBP) used to build circuit boards in the top left corner of the image). And thirdly Azimov is indirectly related to this subject.
Hi Graylox, no connectors are nowhere near what this object is.
(I hope I didn't resurrect this thread with something too hard).

BlockedFor some reason I think it's a Kensington lock, but that's not electronic and doesn't come in pairs. It could also be a printer cartridge chip (I take those off of my used inkjet ink tanks for the future when I have some sort of chip reader and then I can make some sort of light array), but those don't necessarily come in pairs.
Shrinking the picture and looking from far away, it looks like ribbon cables from something. The size looks SATA, but I don't think SATA cables are connected in the same fashion as IDE cables.
