   Wow!, just checked to see whether or not we would be getting two games this coming weekend (24th to 25th January) and was very surprised to see 10 games in the listings.

   I've not seen so many games in the listings since we stopped getting weekly games back in April 2008. This is definitetly good news for the next 5 weekends, with double games virtually assured. Looks like a new developer has come on board as well.

   We have another two games this coming weekend (March 14th - 15th March). Sundays game is quite large as giveaways go at over half a gigabyte, so, if you don't have broadband I'd get downloading as soon as you are able. :)

   One of this weekends games (probably Sundays) is almost three quarters of a gigabyte. If you have a slow connection I would start downloading as early as possible unless you use a download manager such as Internet Download Manager.

    maybe only one game this weekend. Though there are more than one in the listings (six), only one has so far been placed at the top of the list. That and at least one more have been generously given from one of the game houses I buy from, namely Gamersgate, who have just joined the gamegiveaway fold of developers who have donated.

    I can tell you now, both of those games are high quality games and something to look forwards to. Neither are the usual Match Three, HOG or TM games, but that's as far as I'm prepared to tell. :)

    It fails....Have to disable F-Secure to download it, which could cause a problem playing it!

    I suspect F-Secure is detecting the Thermida wrapper as a threat and is preventing the download. I don't use F-Secure but a quick search on "F-Secure trusted site" suggests that you could add "http://game.giveawayoftheday.com" as a Trusted Site and get the download to proceed.

    At any rate, the wrapper surrounds the installation files, it's not a factor in playing the game. If you can get it downloaded and installed then your system should function normally.

    There will be two games this weekend. Saturdays game is almost three quartes of a gigabyte and sundays is just under half a gigabyte, so for those who have slow connections I advise downloading the game as early as possible to avoid disappointment. My advise to those that have slow connections, use a download manager. The advantage is that if the connection is disrupted, yu don't have to start downloading from the beginning plus you may get a faster download if the download manager breaks the file up into packets. MThe download manager i use can break the file into 16 part, tpohugh I have configured mine todownload in 8 parts. My download speeds have increased significantly using a download manager. not all sites allow download managers that break the files into packets due to the increased bandwidth you use.

    On the off-hand chance this'll help someone, or be of interest etc...

    You can think of it as a matter of ethics, or maybe politeness or etiquette, the same way you behave [or don't] at a buffet. A site hosting a download can support X number of connections -- if you take more than one you might be taking a connection away from someone else. OTOH if everyone's doing it, &/or that's the only way you'll complete the download, it might be OK -- everyone has to make their own judgement on that, along with how many connections they want to use. WR for example is being a Nice guy by not maxing out his downloading software.

    Some sites feel that they can't [or don't want to] trust their visitors to not be gluttons, so they try to block downloading software.

    Another decent weekend coming Saturday 6th and 7th June (my birthday). Sundays game is almost three quarters of a gigabyte, so those with slow download speeds should start downloading early. Due to more community members downloading, and the size of the download, a lot more community members will be downloading at any one time, thus slowing the download speeds significantly.

    Saturdays game is a lot smaller by an order of magnitude, so downloads should be much quicker. It's also a game from one of our favorite contributors. :)

    Unable to activate todays game InsaneCold. I am getting error message "Failed to launch program". I had same problem two weeks ago. I tried many times but could not activate the game. Last week I activation was ok.
    I have tried disabling Mcafee but no use.

    Any ideas?
