Absolutely true...sending it straight to my brother. Thanks so much for all the info, and I'm glad to hear about your good report from the doctor...you go girl! My brother had emergency bypass surgery in March '09 at just 41 yrs old, and was supposed to quit smoking. He did, but only for a short time. His wife was no help as she "claimed" she quit too, but was seen by many people doing it even while riding in the truck WITH him. Some help!

The person below me has had to "de-skunk" their dog. That's what I have to do after my Dr appointment. He didn't get sprayed, but he walked where the skunk was so he smells anyway. UGH!!! I don't blame Buckley, I blame the "dog walker" who saw the glowing eyes and assuming it was just a cat, allowed him to investigate. It was pouring rain at the time and I told him that should have been his clue that it wasn't "just a cat" as cats don't generally prowl around in pouring rain. Besides I had told him not to go in the first place because of the rain. Double UGH!

True.. been down that road and kept a supply of large cans of tomato juice for just in case! The big mess is when the dog decides to shake it off.. watch out! Than after that soaking on him we'd give him a good bath, and then hose off all the tomato splatter! He was a free spirit, so wasn't fenced in and he also loved rolling in cow pies! What a mess!

False....don't care much for Mexican food and there's not much of it around here anyway.

Re: de-skunking....a friend's "golden" mixed with one once while they were camping. People at the campground said to use a solution of peroxide, baking soda and detergent (he said laundry detergent)....they tried it and it worked. So I checked it out online and found the same thing only using dish detergent. I made the solution with Dawn (that's what they're using for the animals rescued from the gulf oil spill). Anyway...it worked great, even "bleached" his white parts a bit so they're really nice. The only problem now is on the one said pf his snout...the odor is still noticeable when I get face to face with him but at least he doesn't smell when he just walks by. It really wasn't all that strong....just enough to be annoying. So now I've washed, deodorized and clipped him, soaked his collar in the same solution, sprayed "his chair" with Lysol and put on a clean cover, and washed all the towels we've been using during the last two days of non-stop rain. He's about 3 feet away sleeping on his chair and I don't smell anything....YAAAAYYYYY!

I actually don't have a dog now, but when we were teens, we had a sweet rescued border collie/standard collie mix dog.
She was small like a border , but had the colouring of a Lassie ..
Her name was Fiona(VERY Scottish ,as my Dad was a Scot)
Anyhow, I used to clip her pantaloons in the summer time, to keep her cooler and cleaner too. (She was high maintenance, and needed daily brushing)
She was such a sweet dog, and seemed to love the lighter feeling afterwards...lol!

True/false.. we don't own them, they own us! And they're not house cats, all are feral, so we had a colony. They were all trapped and spayed/neutered and then returned back here. We feed them and provide shelter in our outside shed with 'cubbies' made of Rubbermaid containers, filled with straw for warmth in the winter, and a litter box. I've gotten a few of them (with lots of patience) to allow me to pet and hold them outside. We started out with 12 and now down to 3, but 1 of them hasn't appeared for 3 days now, so am getting worried. Can't have them indoors since our pit/beagle dog would kill them. Someday when he passes (he's 11 now), I'd like to have an indoor kitty or 2 or perhaps get a puppy and kitty at the same time so they'd grow up together.

False to the canning..I'd like to, but have a feeling that we'd give a lot away. I do freeze blueberries when they are in season,though, and we enjoy them all winter...

True.. but I stopped going since I didn't see any changes after 6 months and almost daily treatment. Now I just do exercises they gave me at physical therapy last year.
And yes, we are going to do some canning of grape jelly or jam.. have a load of concord grapes on our vines. With all the heat must keep a close eye on them, one year by the time we checked they were already raisins! We make it extra rich, and yes, we do give a LOT away! The other kinds we've canned are apricot/pineapple, and seedless blackberry. My blueberries are frozen too. Never did veggies.

copmom, that is a shame...I would have changed chiropractors if I saw no change in such a long time..
I am lucky; mine is not just a chiropractor but is also a sports medicine doctor and has a lot of expertise.
That's great if just the exercises are working for you!
YUM about the jams and jellies! NOTHING like homemade!

True, I like to look at antiques but never buy anything(too cheap I guess..lol!)

False, but I do watch it from time to time. As for antiques, I love them but the house already has too much furniture! Had to sell some things when we moved here since this house is smaller than the one we had before. Oh, checked yesterday.. the grapes ARE ready right now! That means canning this weekend!

False, I tend to leave it to the last minute these days. I used to buy all the kids presents (from my first marriage) in the January and Summer sales; that used to save a fortune - hmmm, well it meant I could buy them more, lol.

True, I'd already tried it previously as I knew it was going to be posted soon. It's one of my favorite match three games together with The Treasures of Montezuma I & II and the Puzzle quest games. I think Puzzle quest II beats the game easily, but nmany others do. :)

WR, I have seen the northern lights; in Nova Scotia, of all places(as it isn't very "northern") I remember being awe struck at the shifting undulations and strange ribbon sort of formations...
I was also SURE that there was an accompanying "humming(ie electric) sound, but have read that this could not have been true. Strange, as my companions swore and still swear that there was a sound too...
SO beautiful, none the less...

TRUE, to the enjoying a relaxing Saturday afternoon! (especially after a hectic morning..)

True, I'm already in the process of building one for my daughter. I promised she would have one for her roon when she reaches the same age as my son when he got his computer. I've got several weeks left to complete the build.

I'm also looking to build up a new system for myself soon as well. My most recent build is over 2 years old now (apart from a relatively new grapics card that I had to instal due to the previous NVidia 8800 card burning out). Also it's only got a 3.2GHz dual core cpu. I'm after a quad core i7 now. :) I'll probably have to wait for the settlment to come through before I start that build as I want the best. Some of the games that I play such as ArmA II (see images below) =, Grand Theft Auto IV and several other games require a lot of processing power if I want the graphics maxed out. You should see ArmA II. The open world environments are amazing. :)

I couldn’t resist showing you some in game screen captures of the game. (There’s just been a new add-on released that is set in Turkistan).

The person below me would love to play a game like the one I'm showing above. (you can even play as a sheep, cockeral, dog, cow and other animals, though the game is primarily a military simulator of the best calibre. You can get ArmA II, ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead and it's add-on ArmA II: British Armed Forces. There's also a cheaper and earlier version that was released early in 2007 called ArmA: Combined Operations that includes the original game plus the expansion Queeens Gambit (I think the expansion is included). You can check all the games via Steam;

True, but my computer is old old old..(only has 512 mgs of ram...lol !
I have only been able to stay up to speed because I have a nvidia graphics card(but IT is OLD now too)
Apart from the shooting(which kind of games I don't like) I am impressed with the graphics; it's just like a movie!

The person below me is about to make a fruit dessert(crisp as we call them; ideal for a sunny EARLY fall type day!)

False.. had a heat pump put in about 5 years ago which provides both heat and AC. So glad we did. Strange, up until then (living here in the mountains), never had the need to have AC prior to that.. our climate has really changed!

Yep..true. I also love blueberry jam! Interesting observation.. when we pick the grapes and bring it to people they gladly take them. When I tell them to c'mon down and pick them, they never show up! How lazy can you get?

no, not yet, as I rarely drive my car anywhere due to the fact that everything practically is within walking distance, or I can get around via metro - so my next gas-tank fill-up will probably be at the end of the month.

Nothing like that feeling of total suspension ; it's like flying in water!
