Hi, Suki... thanks, but what I meant was that that's not the game that's available under my Game Box FREE tab. The Box I keep in my Alawar folder still had Crystalix as the offer; so I downloaded a fresh Game Box from the Net and it's some kind of space shooter. Ah, well... I'm sure I can live w/out Pyramid Runner. Just thought I wasn't doing something right, which I probably am. *~&:-B

The latest version of the GameBox doesn't include the "Free Game" tab. How do you get to the freebie using GameBox now. My version has a 3rd tab (Free Game).
Edit - My friend who I've been trying to walk through the download of the Gamebox AND Froggy's Adventure had trouble seeing the "Free Game" tab. Apparently it is still there.
The bug I've been squawking about is still there, too. As in my case, Froggy's Adventures shows as a Demo, even though it says "Thank your for your Registration" and is a full game.

When I'm next in my Email account I'll try and remember to find the link to one of the alawar Staff. I know one of them never replies to my queries, but another one does. I just need to find the Email address. :)

The new Alawar Gamebox monthly freebie is out! It's "Tiny Worlds". It's a cute little maze game. Surprisingly, it downloaded and unlocked in one try for me this time and it even shows as a full game within Gamebox.
It reports 250 levels and FREE upgrades for future versions. That last is something I haven't seen before!

I got side tracked. I got it earlier but forgot to post! It's kind a a cute game. It's similar to "Hidden Vines" that I got from Big Fish. Using my posted trick of running in admin mode, Gamebox even recognizes it as a full game!

Aquaball was (at least) once offered here and is a nice breakout game. If you missed it or lost it for any reason, here's a chance to get it back!
Again - knowing that Gamebox and Vista don't always agree, I have it set to always load in admin mode. It correctly registered that I have the full version!

(and I couldn't even see it mentioned on the site, nor was the game mentioned in their list of games; odd...)I DID notice on the site that it says:
"To activate the full version of Alawar GameBox [Beta], copy and paste the registration key into the appropriate window. To obtain a registration key, run Alawar GameBox [Beta] and then select your preferred method of payment."
So it SOUNDS like the "free" game may be gone???

It makes no sense! Where did you find the message about registering the Gamebox? I run Gamebox and see nothing about that. I don't even have a way of updating the Gamebox.
I still see a tab saying "Free Game" but it's blank and has been for a week.

MemberI opened the Alawar game box on Wed. the 17th to see if a new game was being offered. A small window popped up asking if I wanted to update the gamebox. I checked the no box and checked on the free game. No game, only white space. I did this for a couple of days with the same results. Each time I was asked if I wanted to update. On the 19th I checked the yes box. The free game tab still shows a blank window. Updating did not change the ability to get a free game. The mystery continues. Maybe the blank window is the game and we have to figure out how to solve it.

I had downloaded the alawar game box this morning(as I couldn't even find it on my computer) ..I did the custom install and
put it on my second hard drive(where I like to keep my games)
It showed no free game, just a blank as we had been saying.
I then came home this afternoon and this time the game box showed Aqua ball as STILL the free game...
LOL.
I don't care about this game and now wonder why Suki's shows Mahjong as the free game..still hoping to hear back from her!

I decided to try it and was surprised when Avira tagged the wrp.exe file as a trojan. I have reported it as a suspected False Positive and all I can do is wait. It used to just take about 24 hours to get a report but not it can take up to 2 weeks. I'll let everybody know what I find out from Avira.

I had Mahjong Match on my Laptop(which I already owned and it said you already have this game), but on my Desktop I had a blank page!
I was surprised to see Astro Fury today when I checked it on my Desktop, I had sent off a bug report via the box, but only got a comp reply!I had let the Box update on my Desktop a while ago, so I thought the free game was gone too, but it hasn't tried to update on my Laptop!
Maybe the Box on my laptop was picking up my game from BFG, but it had a pic and everything, but I couldn't find it listed on their site either! Maybe they had it at one time, but it was removed!
They might have been working on the site and the box, rofl

I finally got a response to my email to Alawar about the problem. All it said was to try it again, they fixed it! There was a link to rate their "service". A simple yes/no for three questions. One was if their response was quick (no). The second was was the situation explained (no) and the third was was the problem fixed (yes). I guess they got a 33% rating from me! :)
They got a no for quick response because I do not consider a week as "quick". There was no explanation - just try it again. I had already downloaded and installed the game (and received squawks from Avira) by the time I saw their response!

Avira reported the .wrp file of Astro Fury as a hidden object problem. Alawar said that some of their games do report problems because of advertising (I didn't see any in Astro Fury). Avira finally came back with a report on my submission as a suspected false positive. I was right! The file (and the game) is clear!

Games JunkieI am having a new problem with the Box, can someone explain this please???
This is happening on both my Desktop and my laptop! I have overwritten the file! I have removed it completely and reinstalled the Box and the same thing happens!
I have found all the games and have them corralled in a folder at the moment!
I never did receive any answer on the first problem with the Box, but I am now on the beta team with no games to test, roflmbo
