I don't want to be misleading.....You COULD say that part of this item is hinged, but it is not a hinge. There......confusing enough?

parts of an easel?
Posted 16 years ago # -
Not parts of an easel. By the way, when I said some painters would have it, I didn't necessarily mean they needed it for painting. Some car mechanics, housewives, and kids might have it too.

ahhh... a worthy opponent. tricky, tricky. I like that.
I need to upload past pics my move away from pichut made unavailable and post a list of new locations, with cross-references to old posts.

Good morning! You're still at it. Is is a squeegee?
Posted 16 years ago # -
Good morning.... is it a dye for printing, as in typesetting? Or one of those gadgets that can open anything, and the parts adjust to different shapes, or a keymaker?
Posted 16 years ago # -
Mornin everyone.......YAWN!
Creamy......I'm a housewife.......well......I'm a wife and I live in a house.....anyway....I don't think I have anything that looks like that. What's the general size of this thing?
Posted 16 years ago # -
Is it a knife sharpener.....yeh, that's something every kid should have.....
Posted 16 years ago # -
Putty!
Posted 16 years ago # -
how about a folding knife, or pocket knife...
the bolsters gave it away. neat grips. what camera do you use?
Posted 16 years ago # -
I think creamy forgot us!
Posted 16 years ago # -
had to sleep sometime..
Posted 16 years ago # -
Yeah...I gotta sleep. Didn't hit the bed until 5am, so cut me some slack. And speaking of cutting.........
NOT a squeegee.
NOT a printing die.
NOT a keymaker.
You COULD open something with it.
NOT a knife sharpener.
Buckleysmom asked: "What's the general size of this thing?"
Well, it's about the size of a pocketknife. In fact, it IS a pocketknife! Congratulations, goodgotd, you got it! Here it is:

And here is your prize. Start packin'!

As a consolation prize for everyone else who had to put up with my first evil clue, here is something you won't need a knife for.....but beter bring your scissors:

A pocketknife was the perfect item for all you cut-ups. Thanks for playing! -Dan

Do any of you think you can fly a helicopter?? Try this:
http://www.hurtwood.demon.co.uk/Fun/copter.swfPosted 16 years ago # -
Nice one, Dan! Why did your knife look the color of silly putty? A little photo manipulation or a red light?
Snowdays is kind of neat. But, if there was some kind of emergency and I was forced to fly a helicopter....you may as well just use the knife on me! Cause' everybody's going down?
Posted 16 years ago # -
No manipulation. Look at the full knife pic that shows the grip. At the bottom center you can see the little metal nail/peg/whatever. My first pic was merely that spot up close.....and flipped over.
If you wanna see some snowflakes that are NOT NORMAL, do the search.....put in CREAMYPRETZEL and click "search". You may be surprised.

modern or old chopper? and how much time to check the controls before full liftoff? never did it real, but sims I useta be pretty good in. And a JOAT will try anything- how hard can it be? I know the principals..
thanks, dan- or do you prefer your handle?
I still occasionally play klax, though I prefer tempest and time pilot '84... arcade tech, and still have a bunch of games. Plus MAME gui. That and custom controls gets you the real thing, too.
probably an effect of the flash diffusing the veins, maisey.
oh, yeah- any clue to the cam? academic interest.
Posted 16 years ago # -
cool snowflakes.

goodgotd:
Not a clue about the cam. I'm not a photography person, so I didn't snap the pics.
You can call me anything you want. I've been called creamy, pretzel, pretz, CP, and a few other things I can't print.
I went in and tried copmom's helicopter game. Everyone is dead.
Tempest is my all-time favorite Atari game, although I am not that great at it. Wish I had the full sized arcade version to go with my pinball machines. In addition to Tempest, I'd like to have Hyper-Sports by Konami. I used to put the record on every machine I would play in 1984/85. Can't find them anywhere now...not even on eBay.
Posted 16 years ago # -
if you knew somebody to fix the spinner inputs on the board, I have one in storage I'd like to sell- also an original pac-man, time soldiers, etc.
I probably have a half-dozen track-n-field boards, no hyper-sports.
no exif info on the pics, so you're dead right, no clue.

Ooooooooh! I want a pinball machine SO bad!!!!! Used to love playing those machines! But, then again, who has the room for one? I don't!
Oops.. now gotta go watch Survivor! Laters!Posted 16 years ago # -
visual pinmame lets you play... not the same, I agree- I want my black knight out of storage- but not many handy these days. better'n nuttin'.
Posted 16 years ago # -
Black Night is a good pinball! It's a shame having it in storage. I'm in Arizona, and all three of my pinballs are in storage in North Carolina. I've got one called "Torch", with an Olympics theme, and I bought it because it has an almost unused playfield, which is hard to find in a machine that's now 28 years old. My favorite is my "Meteor", because it has a lot of targets to shoot at. My third and most valuable one is "Star Trek", which came out around the same time as the first movie. I grabbed it for $750 in prime condition, in 1999, and a few months ago I saw a guy trying to sell one on line for $3,000.
If I had them with me now instead of in North Carolina, you'd never see me on here.

you might be surprised, after a while. You would think that with a Star Wars and a convert-a-cab with 30-odd game board sets to swap through it, I would be here less, but here I am.

I grew up on Pinball. I used to sell newspapers on battleships in the harbor in San Diego when I was 11, and on the way there, we always stopped at this place that had pinballs.....and I was hooked from that moment on. I even once had a job repairing Pinballs (just the electro-mechanical type.....the computerized stuff was beyond my abilities).
One day I would like to open a Pinball Arcade. Even if it just broke even or lost a little money, I wouldn't care. I'd be in my self-created heaven.
Posted 16 years ago # -
that would be cool.
i used to waitress at a restaurant that closed between lunch and dinner. when i would work both shifts i would have a 2-3 hour break. i'd grad a quick bite to eat and play pinball up the block. (occasionally i would play tetris, too.)fun times.
:DPosted 16 years ago # -
Have you played any newer machines? Since the late 80's, it seems like they want to cram so much junk on the playfield that you can't even figure out what to do to beat the machine. And points are pretty much meaningless. When you're scoring millions on each ball, what's the challenge?
Give me a simple pinball with an open playfield and a lot of targets to shoot at and I will die a happy man.

funkymom, might as well bust your bubble the same time I bust creamypretzel's... but It Ain't Gonna Happen.
For a few reasons, but one's real easy to point out that'll stop you cold.
Where you gonna get the pinball machines?
Williams, Bally, Data East, Sega (see stern), even Gottlieb- dust on the wind, gone. I haven't even heard of Zaccaria in years. If I recall right, The Pinball Factory in Australia hasn't got a game out the door.
Stern Pinball, Inc. claims to be the only coin-op pinball manufacturer on the planet. With just 7 games in production. And I think they're right.
Depressing, ain't it?
had to play 'em to fix 'em. I got outta the biz in 1992, so addams family and lethal weapon 3 were about the latest. I have a charlie's angels too- gave away the e-m '300'.
But I had an 11 year plus career in vending and amusement. After 4 years running the family arcade and soda fountain.

goodgotd:
Oh, ye of little faith. You assume that because there are almost no pinball manufacturers making machines that a person could not open an arcade?
I wouldn't be using new machines, but old ones. I bought four on eBay within a 3 month period, and they have lots more all the time. Also, I know several places in California that have tons of old pinballs and arcade games for sale.
Your phrase "It ain't gonna happen" reminded me of something. In 1993, I was talking with a co-worker about a woman at work that I was interested in. I told him that I thought her and I would end up together. He said, and this is an exact quote: "You and Ellen?.....I don't see it happening."
She is sitting next to me at this minute, and we have been together for 15 years. A pinball arcade would be easy compared to that!.

Creamy & Goody you make my fingers quite nervous with your pinballs (we called them Flipper) discussion.
I would be a regular player at your machines, Creamy!
You should also put into your arcade one or two of those good old wooden "Kicker" tables.
http://www.a-better-tablefootball.be/kicker.htm
In my time, 40 years ago, I was called the "Kicker Queen". shh...shhh don't tell it to anybody! shh
We played for drinks, I had always enough drinks. In that time, my first few month in Berlin, my main address was that Jazz Bar. In the morning I went to the university, afternoon to my office-job, in the evening I did some writing and my night-life was Jazz and gambling.
Today I don't know how I could survive that time.Posted 16 years ago #
