   Gray #06....the first 3 I tought were sea shells of some sort but then #4 threw me. Are these all part of the same item or are they 4 different items?

   Those are 4 different pictures. One is with / under water. Some are plants.

   1 la indeed looks like coral, the q-tip is easy- but I'm gonna say a glass lightning strike in sand getting cleaned. or a briar burl, perhaps.

   2 sw I'll go along wih shell, maybe one mounted as a light. but backlit. some flowers, though- calla lily can look like that.

   3 ta to me looks like a color transition in glass with the lower clear glass textured.

   4 va appears to be a brass (bronze?) grate with water standing over it.

    goody, what do you mean with lime formation ? But I don't think that it is such thing.

    lime formations the common forms are stalactites and stalagmites in caves, but others are much more complex and can form aboveground.

    graylox, I love your mushroom and lichen shots! Did you take them recently and with the camera that you you'd like to replace? I think they look fabulous! I do like your grate underwater pic too! You have a good eye for composing photos. :)

    Yes those pictures are taken with my Canon PowerShot A60, in the year 2004, I think the cam is from 2003. At that time I was astonished, what was possible with such a little thing, but now it has some glitches. Not all bad pics are the fault of my shaky hands.
    (But mostly...)
    All pictures are "natural", I am always too lazy to edit them.

    it was a neat link. I too think you ought to cross-post it, as it shows in pictures the difficulty I was trying to explain with reflective projection in words.

    It gave me a new idea or 2 to try as well, in addition to making me think transmissive (backlit) projection would be best.

    and I don't have a slide collection, my goal is 35mm negatives. which is the other reason I have plans and parts but still waiting.

    Pondering the light source. anyone have an opinion on compensation for, say florescent- when the colors are flipped to positive?
