well, the proof is in the pudding, so I'm gonna *try* different ones and get your opinions on how they look to you and how the service is.

Never used a cable for transferring pics to pc since I could never get Sony's software to run on my old Win98 pc. I bought a little USB SD card reader for that. My next pc, I made sure that it had a built in reader. I have several MS cards for Sony and bought two 2GB SD cards on Black Friday for $10 each for the Canon. Have a card reader on the printer too, but that's never been used.

Graylox, pictures take awhile to display here but the details are crisp clear and large. Very nice!
Did you take those photos? How did you command the ants to form a circle? Do you have special powers over the insect world?

Yes I took the pics last year springtime in Sweden.
That was a loooong training with the ants :)))
There were fantastic large bumble-bees and I wanted to take a pic of them; therefore I tried to attract them with a drop of honey water, but the ants were faster.

goody, it's the last link on the list for each picture on the links page. How did my pictures load for you? Slow or fast?
the small ones come instantly, the greater ones load not quite so fast, but much, much better than imageshack.
I don't like, that they rename my pics, and it is quite long winded(?) until you have access to all pictures. I mean in the gallery, you have to click forward and back again to collect all your links. Or did I miss something ?

That was a neat picture.. ants on the spoon! And they all loaded very quickly!
So did yours maizy.. but what links on a page? Or does that happen when you load them? Anyway I bookmarked that site.

graylox, right after the pictures uploaded there is a screen with thumbnails and all the links. That's where I got them. And then in the gallery, you can right mouse click on the filename at the top of each picture and select "copy link location". That will copy the direct link to your clipboard.

They all loaded fast and clear as a bell! Love that ant picture.. you should submit that one to some kind of photography contest!
good.. I'm expecting delivery on my printer that takes cards so will let you know about the following that you posted somewhere else. If it's not necessary, I'm going to return that 21 in 1 card reader/writer I bought last week.

I looked at the manual and looked at the xd/sm specs- if you're talking the hp 3310- and it will not read smartmedia.
however, it may very well read sm in a single-card reader plugged into it's front usb port. I doubt the 21 in 1 will work since those appear as 4 drives- and sm isn't the first.
I thought I posted that already.
the pics loaded about average- I set a low cache.

yes, talking the HP 3310.. yes, you had posted that already (gee you have a good memory). I knew that it wouldn't read SM cards, we already had that discussion.. it will read SD cards and some others. I could try my "old" Kodak 4in1 reader that's plugged into the computers USB port on the printers USB and see if that works! If it does, will let you know, or if it blows the new printer up, will let you know that too!
Then for the 21 in 1 card reader I bought, guess I'll just get my $20 back.. haven't opened it yet! It does show on the front of the pkg. for use with: CF-type 1, cf-type ii, cf-ultra, microdrive, SD, SD Ultra, SDC, Mini SD, MMC, HS-MMC, RS-MMC, MS, MS(MG), MS-pro, HS-Ms, MS Duo, MS-Pro Duo, HS-MS-Pro Duo, SM, XD, and T-Flash.
There ARE supposed to be "multi media card adapters" somewhere out there in the world! If I find one I'll let you know!
