Sorry, maizeydaze- I went o-u-t out before I saw your post.
We have a winnah!
it's Reflective tape on ...post.since the post part is arguable, and the 'cheap' makes it just a little bit better than colored plastic (only the hex... reflects.) I'm glad you got the tape. see image.
lemme rustle up some pretties.

Goody, that's exactly what I was thinking of when I said "post". I didn't know what else to call those flimsy plastic stick in the ground.

here's some wallpapers: start with a little lizard, then try a little of the nigella vanguard, (Nigella damascena, certainly more striking than sativa) then a bit of braided green with a dessert of a little pink to finish.

Thanks, Goody! I really made out on this win...4 pics! I see you in the lizard shot. :)

They're actually (or were, when introduced) named some pompous, burrocratic variant of 'reusable wake-up flap', and they implant them in angled lines in the pavement where a highway narrows for bridges, to alert dozy drivers in time to ruin somebody else's day.
I-5 in northern california is full of 'em.

nope, after cropping you got my cam and hands- no trace of face.
and editorially, 4 wallpapers, not pictures- pictures have lots more detail you can zoom for- by the standards I'm trying for.
Pictures have room to crop to taste and still look good as wallpaper.
That vanguard's picture is 2096 x 1561... but that wallpaper is 1280 x 965.
thus, more. but I still can't think of those flaps as posts without flinching. notice that one's been hit, too.

You sure are a stickler for technicalities....
OK, no face, but a portion of "you".
Alright! Not pictures, but "wallpapers.
And, not posts, but "flaps"!
Can I laugh, now? LOL
I feel so foolish. :(
Posted 16 years ago # -
ah, but had I not cropped I was all there!
the technicalities are only distinctions to me (yes, you can laugh now) to keep me improving.
seriously, save them and zoom in on both the wallpaper and full-res nigella m 005 vanguard and there's a lot more in the latter. a lot more load time, too. if you prefer the extra detail, just ask.
and see, I grew up learning a 'post' was something you or livestock could lean on and it'd stay put. if it didn't, wasn't a post. [sigh] Horses.
the lizard barely made the cut for wallpaper. honest.

wanna take a stab at G What is it n005?
Posted 16 years ago # -
Gn005 - Lampshade made from blue alien flesh?
Posted 16 years ago # -
nope, manmade, no aliens. But it does cast a shadow.
Posted 16 years ago # -
Blue window shade?
Posted 16 years ago # -
Is it a Litter Bin
Posted 16 years ago # -
nope, flat and opaque.
Posted 16 years ago # -
Is it one of those rubber grabber thingies?
Posted 16 years ago # -
no, single sheet in a frame, bigger than a cookie sheet.
Posted 16 years ago # -
Is it a see through vinyl picnic table cover?
Posted 16 years ago # -
no, similar effect, though. it's sealed on the front with a plastic layer, not see-thru as a whole.

does this second sample from the same closeup help? the original picture didn't take in but about 5% of it.
Posted 16 years ago # -
the first one looked like velcro to me...
the second...umm...still velcro...
i'm terrible at these things...
:(Posted 16 years ago # -
how about some perspective? This is a sample of another picture- same item, different spot- that includes a bit of frame.
Posted 16 years ago # -
:::sigh:::
sorry, goody...
i'm useless in this thread...
all i do here is steal flowers, ferns, bugs, etc....and make stationery & cards for my mom out of the nice pictures...Posted 16 years ago # -
thanks!...
i have been using the flowers either up top or on the left border of the stationery...
& i run the pictures thru FotoSketcher sometimes, too...Posted 16 years ago # -
Latest clue no help to me at all?? And how come it went from blue to purple?
Posted 16 years ago # -
That's the way it looks down the middle, lengthwise. sorta more red.
Posted 16 years ago # -
if it helps, this is an outdoor item, and looks in detail very different than most you see. and chances are you have seen some by now.
Posted 16 years ago # -
Well... I've been looking and looking, and I'm afraid I haven't seen any by now! LOL That 'frame' looks like a track to a sliding glass door.
Posted 16 years ago # -
perhaps a snippet of a much older one might help?
