I picked up the Indie Horror pack for 4.99 (USD) mostly for The Path and The Void. I love the odd little games from the dev's at TAle of Tales, lol.
It has also has The Scourge Project 1 & 2, Burn Zombie Burn, and Zombie Driver.

Good package; unfortunately I already had all the games (paid mostly full price. Anyway, here are todays bargains with my recommendations.
Here are the latest deals on steam:
Sim City 4 75% off £2.45 **** ( I loved playing this game before I got Cities XL 2011 and prior to that Cities XL 2009. I still play it because it has some elements that Cities XL doesn't have.
Section 8 75% £1.99 **** (Excellent Unreal Tournament clone with a little more polish than UT. Amazing price considering I paid full price (£30) just over a year ago. I ended up buying it twice on Steam plus one hard copy so that my son and his friends could play it together. Great team based game, though you can also play it on your own. AI is decent enough)
Rush 66% £1.18 (Only just purchased this the other day. Should have waited, lol
Mount & Blade Complete 75% £7.49 ********** (Brilliant game with a lot of depth. You get the original and the latest that was released earlier this year. Well worth purchasing especially if you have any interest in Medieval history. Good AI, Bargain at the price)
Lost Horizon 50% £9.99 (another one I just purchased. Didn’t think it’d be in the day deals, darn it, lol)
Global Agenda 75% £4.99 (Online MMO, no need for subscriptions. Not purchased this one)
ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead 50% off £9.99 ************(Brilliant sequel to ArmA II. A steal at the price. In Operation arrowhead your taken away from the lush Islands to a sun soaked and rock strewn Takistan. Looks brilliant and plays brilliantly. The add-ons are also worth purchasing as well, but if your on a limited budget buy the British Army one. Much better than the Private Military Company, though the PMC add-on does add a new area to explore whereas the British army doesn’t. This is my number one recommendation out of all of today’s games, though a couple more deserve a close second)
ArmA II : British Armed Forces 33% off £5.35
ArmA II: Private Military Company 33% off £5.35
ArmA II: Combines Forces (ArmA II and ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead) 33% off £20.09
Crysis 75% off £2.49 ***********(Brilliant FPS with destructible environments and a great campaign, though when the aliens start to appear spoils the game a little. Still, there’s a mass of custom made maps for this game, most of which focus on the military campaign and leave out the aliens altogether. I’ve been hoping for a Crysis 3. Brilliant price. I paid over £50 for both games).
Crysis Warhead 75% off £4.24
Crysis Complete Pack 75% off £6.24
King’s Bounty Platinum Edition 75% off £7.49 ***** (Nice RPG though not the best IMO. Turn based strategy. Very colourful game with lots of fantasy elements. The main game plus two expansions adds a lot to the game).
or
King’s Bounty: Armoured Princess 50% off £9.99
King’s Bounty: Crossworlds 50% off £7.49
King’s Bounty: The Legend 50% off £4.99
Colin McRae: Dirt 2 75% off £3.74 ***** (I love this Rally game. Amazing price. Get it while you can. If you don’t have any of the Codemasters pack get that instead. Fuel is an open world racer, where you unlock regions of America. The game is mapped from real satellite imagery. 14 000 square kilometres (5000iles) of land, with thousands of miles of roads and tracks to explore. B You can also go off road and explore any of the many areas of America that are represented. Choose to roam free or partake of the 70 career races and nearly 200 challenges. There are some amazing environments, a day night cycle and 75 different vehicles to drive or ride. Grid is a superb traditional racing game.
Codemasters Racing Pack includes Dirt, Dirt 2, Grid and Fuel 33% off £20.09
Doom Pack Complete 75% off £4.99 (Say no more – everyone has heard of Doom. You get the whole series from Doom to Doom 3. There are loads of mods for these games, so you can expand your game play further if you wish. The latest game released about 5 yeas ago is scary.
IL2 Sturmovik 1942 50% off £4.99 *****(Brilliant flight Sim. Not as gorgeously rendered as Wings of Prey, which uses the same engine, but still a worthwhile game to own, especially if you are into flight sims. Excellent price as well (though I got a hard copy from the local charity shop for 50 pence a few months ago).
Today’s Indie deal (apart from the one above is Proto Galaxy with 75% off £1.74 ***** (Great indie game. Especially for the price. You can play single player or with up to 4 players).
I didn't have any problems when I played Sim City 4. That was about four or five years ago or perhaps a little more. Anyway, I think WRabbits's issues could have been system specific. Like he said, if you are thinking of buying, you might want you might want to check some reviews or probably better yet would be to check the forums and see what other Steam purchasers are experiencing.
I made a mistake Campy; it was Sim City: New York that I had problems with. Sim City 4 has always worked well. :) (I'd just got back from a very long visit to my in laws and was already three hours late posting today's bargains so was rusing and immediately though of the New York problem when I saw Sim City.
Here are Wed/Thursdays game deals. Remember these are just the daily deals. There’s over a thousand games reduced at the moment. The following games have been reduced even further.
Brothers in Arms Earned in Blood ***** 75% off £1.50
Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway ***** 75% off £4.99
Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 ***** 75% off £1.50 (This is a superb trio of squad based games. The original was released back in 2006 and the latest in 2008. All three are dirt cheap. If you don't laready have then you should be clicking on the buy button now; especially the latest one, Hells Highway).
The Ball **** 75% off £3.74 (Excellent first person puzzle based adventure game).
Swords & Soldiers 75% off £1.75 (Was hoping this would be in the sale, will be purchasing it later)
Sniper: Ghost Warrior ***** 75% £5.78 (The best sniper based game i've ever played and i've played most of the ones that have been released over the past decade. Gorgeous graphics, slo mo kills when you get a head shot and plenty of missions to keep you focused. There's an add-on you can get that adds four new multiplayer maps. The game is singleplayer and multiplayer).
Quake Collection ***** 66% £2.80 (Say no more, this is a classic collection - a bit dated now, but hey, who cares so long as the ganme play is good).
Plants & Zombies Game of the Year Edition ************* 60% off £2.80 (Fantastic tower defence game. This game is so funny and very addictive)
Kane & Lynch: Dog Days ***** 75% off £3.74
(great update on the original game. I'm really surprised that it hasn't sold as well as it was only released early autumn 9fall). The only downside I found was not being able to play coop with friends unless you had four to play. Unlike game slike Left 4 Dead that allows one, two, three or four players to play and substitutes a bot for the places that aren't taken in the four man team).
Dead Space ***** 66% £5.10 (You wont want to turn the lights out after playing this one. great FPS shooter/horror game)
City of Heroes: Going Rogue – Complete Collection (requires a monthly subscription) 75% off £6.75 (Not played this one)
Hearts of Iron 3 Complete 75% off £10.77 (Map and menu based strategy game, not bought this one)
Greed Corp 75% off £2.00 (Just purchased, but not played yet)
Amnesia: Dark Descent ***** 66% off £4.42 (or 76% off £3.12 if you own any penumbra game which all have 50% off) (If you liked the Penumbra series you'll love this dark and foreboding point and click adventure game. The first Penumbra game is freeware, so if you're not sure go check G@rgoyles free games synopsis for a free download to get a feel for what you can expect. Bear in mind the game has come on a lot since the first game).
Today’s Indie special (though there are also a few in the main section such as The Ball and Plants & Zombies) is Archon Classic 75% off £1.75
Here are todays deals:
RUSE 33% off £20.05 (Excellent Strategy game)
Star Trek Online Digital Deluxe Edition 75% off £7.50 (I’d love to play this game but I don’t like monthly subscriptions)
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 40% off £17.99 (This was only released a few weeks ago on Steam, snd I’ve been having a ball playing it since. The franchise has returned to it’s roots).
Transformers War for Cybertron 50% off £9.99 (Got this ages ago, but hardly played it. Got stuck right at the beginning and haven’t bothered returning. The game looks cool though, lol)
The Elder Scrolls IV Game of the Year Edition 50% off £7.49 (If you’ve never seen this game in action be prepared to be gob smacked. When I first entered the main world after escaping the dungeons I was amazed at the world I beheld. Apart from the amazing world there’s hundreds of missions to complete. Follow your own path or follow the scripted scenarios. This game has been highly modded and you’ll find many great mods, texture packs and maps available for free. The game of the year edition included the main game, The shivering Islands and a mod pack called Knights of the Nine)
Grand Theft Auto IV Complete (Includes The Lost & the Damne and The Ballad of Gay Tony) 75% off £6.25 (What an amazing open wporld game. You can follow the missions or just go play in the world, stealing cars, shooting or just beating people up, or play the model citizen and just explore the place. The add-ons are great. I loved pl;aying a biker in Lost & the Damned. This game is definitely not suitable for children)
Shatter 75% off £1.75 (A breakout unlike any that have gone before. This game breathes new life into a tired old genre; well worth paying the measly sum of £1.75).
Europa Universalis III Complete 75% off £3.75 (Map based strategy game, not played this one yet)
Grand Ages Rome 80% off £1.99 (An excellent Stategy and simulation game. Build Roman cities and manage them. Fight off invaders. Great game with lots of elements to keep you busy).
Grand ages Rome: Reign of Augustus 80% off £2.99
Imperium Romanum Gold Edition 80% £2.00
Grand Ages Rome: Gold Edition 80% off £4.00

Valve Complete Pack 79% off (Even better than the orange box. You pay less than one premium priced game of £24.99 and you get Counter-Strike, Team Fortress Classic, Day of Defeat, Deathmatch Classic, Half Life: Opposing Force, Ricochet, Half Life, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, Half Life: Blue Shift, Half Life 2, Counter-Strike Source, Half Life source, Day of Defeat: source, Half Life 2: Deathmatch, Half Life 2: Lost Coast, Half Life Deathmatch: Source, Half life 2: episode 1, Half Life 2: episode 2, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 – this is a superb collection of games, most of which are also supported by the community so you’ll find many extras, for example there are at least a hundred campaign maps for Left 4 Dead 2 alone, which extends the game play for many months)
Star Wars Jedi Knight Collection 75% off £3.75 (Brilliant deal – you get five games, Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark forces II, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith and Star Wars: Dark Forces – you can buy individual games at 50% off the normal price, but collectively you are getting a further 75% off the already discounted price of all five games if you purchase them as a package)
Stalker Bundle 75% off £3.00 (This includes Stalker: shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat, but not Clear Skies – brilliant post-apocalyptic game that really draws you in. you’ll want clear skies after playing this pair of games. Amazing price considering Call of Pripyat was only released earlier this year. Stalker: Clear Skies has no reduction but is still only £7.99 now)
The Hitman collection 75% off £4.49 (This package includes Hitman 2: Silent assassin, Hitman: blood money and Hitman: codename 47. You can buy individual titles for £1.49 each)

Command & Conquer 4: Tiberium Twilight 75% off £4.99
Supreme Commander 2 75% £2.49
Flight control HD 66% off £1.02
Empire & Napoleon Total War: Game of the Year Edition 50% off £14.99 (This is an amazing package that includes the best Total War game so far with the latest game thrown in. you get Empire Total War, Napoleon Total War: Imperial Edition, Empire Total War Elite Units of America, Empire Total War: Elite units of the East, Empire Total War: Elite Units of the West, Empire Total War: special forces Units plus bonus content, Empire Total War: Warpath Campaign, Napoleon Total War: Coalition Battle Pack, Napoleon Total War: The Peninsular Campaign. This is a deal not to be missed, with all expansion packs included. The total cost of both games and expansions at full price is easily over £100. You’re getting it at nearly a tenth of the original retail price. Apart from King Arthurs: The Role Playing game, which is my favourite at the moment, this is the best r.t.s game available at this point in time. There is a new total war game on the cards in the first quarter of the new year based on the original shogun total war game. I can’t wait – {rubbing hands together})
Anno 1404 Gold Edition 50% off £12.49 (You get the original 1404 plus the expansion 1404: Venice). This is an excellent r.t.s game with a unique combination of construction, economy, discovery, diplomacy, and combat).
Today’s main Indie deal is Madballs in Babo: Invasion for 75% off costing £1.75. (This is one of those games where you can purchase unlocks, but they don’t add anything extra to the game, just unlock characters and weapons earlier - and thus making the game easier to beat – in fact the cost of the unlocks which are not discounted costs several times more than the deal on the actual game. The unlocks include: Madballs B*D*I Clan Skins, Madballs Scorched Clan Skin, Madballs BDI Evolution Skin Rollup, Madballs Scorched Evolution Skin Rollup, Madballs Holiday Skin Rollup, Madballs Campaign Deserters Pack, and the Madballs Anarchy Unlock Pack. All unlocks cost £11.43. I posted the original Madballs which is freeware over in the ames discussion forums, but this is a much improved game well worth the sale price, though don't bother with the unlocks - oddly when this was on sale last year, the unlocks were all included and i'm sure it was 90% off).
I’m not sure whether this is the final day of the sale or whether tomorrow is. It says till the second, so maybe there will be one more one day sale starting on the second, but it could be over tomorrow, so this is the last chance to get a hold of that game you was going to buy a while back, but forgot. There’s over a thousand games reduced by as much as 90%. The following are reductions added on to games that have already been reduced.
Bionic Commando Pack 50% off £8.74 (This includes Bionic Commando and Bionic Commando: Rearmed, both remakes of the classic NES game . When I first saw Bionic Commando I was really impressed with the visuals, but I never got past the training sessions and eventually gave up. Capcom took a sidestep away from their normal control options and made a game that was very hard to control; relying on split second timing to be able to swing from area to area. The game has got potential, and, if you can master the controls (which I never could) you’ll probably really enjoy this game. The 2D prequel to the main game is very playable and well worth the individual price of £3.24).
Football Manager 2011 33% off £20.09 (Not my type of game. I’ve never liked football so trying to play a game about the sport just isn’t me)
AaaaAAaaaAAAAaaAAAAAaaAAAA: A Reckless Disregard for Gravity. 75% off £1.75 (This is a brilliant game. There is a levels editor available, though t’s not included in the game. I asked for it and the developers gave me a copy. :) This is one of my favourite Indie games of last year. It’s an easy game yet challenging. (If that makes sense), get it at this price while you can. One of my recommended purchases today)
Swarm Arena 75% off £1.87 (I’ve not had chance to play this one yet. If you like space orientated arena shooters then this will keep you happy. Fairly retro graphics, which for me add to the gaming experience)
All Half Life Games 75% off or 85% that’s only £4.04 for the whole collection if you own either Left 4 Dead or Left 4 Dead 2 (I’ve already listed the Half Life games in yesterday’s sale. Half Life and Half Life 2 are brilliant FPS games. You can buy individual titles or the HL1 package separate or the whole lot together. This is a brilliant deal).
Zeno Clash 75% off £2.81 (This is one of the first games I ever pre-ordered via Steam early in 2009 and one of only two Beat ‘Em Up games I’ve ever likes (Zeno clash and Street Fighter IV). It’s more like a 3D FPS beat em up as opposed to a traditional arena beat em up. The world you explore is wacky and amazing, with weird looking people and even weirder weapons, for the price this is one you shouldn’t miss. You can also get Zeno clash as part of the Indie Heavy Hitters package that also includes AudioSurf, Shattered Horizon, world of goo, The Maw, Braid, Osmos, Trine and Zeno clash. That costs £13.99 and nets you some of the best indie games of the past few years. If you like Beat em Up’s then I highly recommend this game)
The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom 50% off £9.99 (I’ve not purchased this one yet. There’s also three DLC’s that have not been discounted and cost £16.97) A little too expensive for my tastes considering this is supposed to be a sale.
Mafia II 75% off £4.99 (I love this game. There’s also a digital deluxe version that costs £9.99 plus more DLC’s. This is an amazing deal. The game was released back in October and has had two large DLC’s released since. The game plays like Grand Theft auto except you get authentic looking cars from pre-war America going through to the 1960’s. This is one of my highly recommended games today)
Medal of Honor 50% off £14.99 (Released several weeks before Call of duty: Black Ops. IMO it’s as good. A long awaited sequel to MOH: Airborne. There was supposed to have been another title released back in 2009 called MOH: Frontlines, but it’s still not been released. I’ve had it on pre-order for over 2 years)
Diuvinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga 50% off £14.99 (This game includes a re-mastered Eco Draconis and the new expansion Flames of Vengeance, a marvellous RPG that reminds me a little of Oblivion, but not quite)
Company of Heroes Gold 75% off £3.74 (This is a ridiculously small price to pay for this award winning r.t.s war game. You can purchase individual titles if you’ve already purchased one or more of the three titles that are included I the gold edition.
Todays Indie game special is Ion Assault 75% off £2.50 (Excellent Indie space shooter with psychedelic graphics. Go get it now! :)
Gonna try 1 more time to get that wabbit's attention...
Yoh! Wabbit! Check out this link. http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/forums/topic/3936/page/2 Only gamershell.com works from what I can figure out. So you need to change the game link.
Last day now. It ends at 10am Pacific time on Monday. Since Whiterabbit hasn't made it here yet, I will mention that today's deal is a repeat of some of the top deals so information on the games has already been posted here. The deals are as follows:
Grand Theft Auto IV (incl. Episodes From Liberty City) - $9.99 (75% off)
Neverwinter Nights 2 Platinum - $9.99 (50% off)
Killing Floor Complete Pack - $6.99 (75% off)
Plants vs. Zombies GOTY Edition - $3.99 (60% off)
Stalker 2 Game Bundle - $4.99 (88% off)
The Hitman Collection (3 games) - $7.49 (75% off)
Dead Space - $6.80 (66% off)
Empire & Napoleon Total War GOTY Edition - $24.99 (50% off)
Amnesia - $6.80 (66% off)
Mafia II - $12.49 (75% off)
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit - $29.99 (40% off)
Left 4 Dead 2 - $6.80 (66% off)
The Indie Deal is Grotesque Tactics: Evil Heroes - $2.99 (85% off)
Thanks Campy. I fell asleep about an hour before the games changed over.
Haha! What did you get?
Great choice Graylox. The only one I haven't purchased is the Trijinx game. Portal is a classic and well worth the money though you could have got it free last year as they had a special where they were giving it away (some sort of anniversary celebration I think). The new one is out in April. :) As for the Oddbox, that's a brilliant buy. all four games are great. I'd already purchased the original 2 (Abe's Exoddus and Abe's Oddysee) via GOG but couldn't resist purchasing the package just for the other two; especially as one of them is a 3D adventure. i'm really looking ofrwards to exploring that game when I finish the last couple of Steam sales back log (I'm still playing some of the games I purchased from the summer and thanksgiving sales).
Obulis has probably been the hardest game I've played in a long time. You have to get positioning just right, then timing is crucial for a successful conclusion to a puzzle. it's a triple A hard game that i'll probably never finish.
The sale ends in just over 2 hourd time, so it's your last chance to get some excellent bargains. there's thousands to choose from. check the following list of all games in the sale:
Final damage:
STEAM $36.47 for 12 items (2 were Indie packs so I think it was 20 games)
GOG $65.28 for 12 items (some of these packages also included expansions)
I also got bought the Humble Indie Bundle 2 and a couple of things over at Impulse. At least I stuck to real discounts on the STEAM sale and didn't buy anything expensive. Oh yeah, Christmas presents yielded Civilization V, Fallout New Vegas and Starcraft II (I had a hard time waiting for these, but I had to come up with something to put on my Christmas list). And I went into this with a sizable backlog. Perhaps I should just not buy any more games until next Christmas. Yeah right, like that is going to happen.
Well it was difficult but I managed to resist the temptation to boost my games collection hugely this year(only one purchase,F1 2010),the other games I thought about buying will hopefully drop in price in the coming months.
I wish I had your restraint Deserthead, but no, I daren't say how many games i purchased this Christmas from Steam and GOG. Far too many, but I will get great pleasure in exploring all of them in the coming months. :)
Sadly the Steam sale is over but Direct2Drive, Gamers Gate and others still have plenty of games on sale including some of the original ArmA stuff and a Tropico bundle for $2.50. So there's still time for a late Christmas present!
haha. I highly recommend fortis on Inmpulse for less than $2.50. It's a lines game, but with brilliant game play. Very addictive. Thanks for th link. It's great to beable to see all the different deals around. Saves so much time. :)
I also highly recommend the two ArmA games; they were released late 2006 in Russia and early 2007 everywhere else. I remember the Battlefield community I wa spart of talking about the game; some were raving about it, others hated it. If you play a stealth game this will be a great buy, but if you like to run and gun 9like ou do in Call of duty), then this isn't a game for you. The graphics are not as good as ArmA II, but they are not bad. The game play is as good as ArmA II, though some elements from ArmA II are not available in ArmA and Queens Gambit. If you have ArmA II you'll recognise the games layout, with singleplayer campaign modes, multiplayer modes, jump in and play mode, Armoury and Boot Camp. Together with the expansion 'Queens Gambit' you've got a brilliant 'true' military simulator. ArmA is not an arcade type FPS game like the Call of Duty games but a real sim based on one that the military use to train real soldiers. It's a fantastic game. I'd grab it while it's so cheap. You can explore hundreds of square miles of land in this game. Playing the armoury gives you access to locked weapons and vehicles and gives you a taste of all of the mission types. No two missions you are given in this mode are ever the same becasue you are moved randomly from one area to another. Each area calls for different tactics.
Although ArmA II is a lot more but it's still 50% off. The Combined Operations package includes ArmA II and ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead., so you're basically getting two full games. Both of these games are beautifully rendered. The scenery is amazing and again you are able to explore hundreds of square miles of land on three different areas, two islands and one area (Takistan) thats part of a continent. you'll be amazed when you are in game. there's a brilliant coop game as well as pure multiplayer and a decent single player campaign.
:D
Sorry spendylox :)
