The headaches are worse but coming out of lurking for a min.
I have never seen any of this stuff. I block cookies, use adblock, flashblock and no script with FF. I don't even get the offers for that program they keep trying to get you to download thanks to registry hack.
I use Deskcut http://deskcut.mozdev.org in FF to make short cuts, RosnSC. That was my only complaint about FF too, RosnSC, until I found Deskcut. You can save them in any folder etc. The only thing it doesn't do ...is "remember" your last folder. But hey it works. At the moment I have over 60 "tabs" open too. I use BarTab https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/67651 "Drink now, pay later: put your tabs on your bar tab!"
As far as IE, pfft. This is June and I think I may have used IE 3 times at the most..this year. I don't even use it to get my Win updates.
Not going to blast anyone for using whatever browser. Use whatever makes you feel comfortable.
