Is this the longest post in this thread, lol
In response to Roberts post below I backtracked to BK's post on the previous page and agree with you Robert. Very well written. It had me wanting for more. :) Nice story BK.
_____________________________________________________________________________________
The person below me read all of the historical events in my post above. :)
True..well most it...quite an impressive list.
Congrats on your Wedding Anniversary WR!
But... I noticed something is missing in 1991.Am I getting warm,Chip?
______________________________________________________
The person below me had to smile (again) reading BK's story.
Hey BK you should get that published.You sure have a way with words.
True.. it was a good one! And I also know what tomorrow is for Chip! LOL
__________________________________________________
The person below me noticed, like I did, that in this heat we don't even hear crickets chirping!
True, that's cause their in mini air conditioned fortresses they built of course.
And I love your answer WR I can now see who I share my birthday with lol. Somehow I think Jennifer Lopez is gonna get better presents though lol.
True & False - Chip, I know you wrote an incomplete sentence - but I thought you purposely did so to be clever and give the person below you a chance to be creative - given that you are a smart human being.
___________________________________________________________________________________
The person below me loves hot and spicy foods (including pickled stuff) like I do.
True.. at least like the spicy, not neccesarily hot or pickled. We did have tacos last night.
__________________________________________________________________
The person below me prefers their own cooking to restaurants.. like I do, (at least that way I know what's in it!)
False...I hate cooking. I CAN cook and people say I'm a good cook....I just hate doing it Every now and then I say to DH, "Lets go out and get a good meal for a change", just to get out of cooking.
Thanks Robert....I don't know about having a way with words but I seem to have some strange events happening now and then :)
Interesting list WR.
The person below me has never been in a snowstorm.
False, the east coast got hammered this year and me and a friend walked in a blizzard and almost died. I seriously laid down in it and felt tired and a feeling of calmness and warmth came over me but she wouldn't let me sleep and got me up so I'm alive lol
LOL - maybe not all the boys, but at least my grandkids (girls & boy)
Chip, how lucky we all are that your friend got you up, otherwise, what should we party today or tomorrow ? (I hate this time machine).
_______________________________________________
The person below me is very happy, that it is raining now.
True....although it has stopped already it was raining just a bit ago and has cooled things down some.....whew!
Since the word is out and it's almost tomorrow.....let me be the first to say.....HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHIP!!!!!!!!!! Have a good one....I think I'll even have some cake in your honor. Ha ha ENJOY!!
The person below me is going to give their pet a bath soon (Buckley's getting one tomorrow).
False, I have no pets anymore lol
And I know this will please WR. Quoted straight from the game Portal...
"The cake is a lie" hahaha
False, but nevertheless...Happy Birthday, to you, Chip, and Happy Anniversary, to WR...:D :D!
"the east coast got hammered this year"
Chip, how well I remember that snowstorm we got, except I don't recall if it was in January, or February! I do recall the place being completely blanketed in snow, the rooster up in the leafless tree amazingly surviving the whole thing, having to return the absent neighbor's boisterous dog to his/its home twice - no, 3 times - in said snowstorm, and having absolutely no power. Oh, and did I mention no shower, or fan to sleep by that night? It took me forever to get to sleep because of those 2 things...(chuckle <though it wasn't 'chuckle' that night...lol>)
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The person below me just acquired yet another sewing machine (an older model, I might add), today, from family members who checked out the new, local Goodwill Store, and found it for only $5.00.
False.. that was a good deal, $5.00! Chip.. have a wonderful happy birthday today!! Shucks, I thought I was going to be first, even had it on my calender and happy anniversary WR!
_______________________________________________________________________________---
The person below me is still waiting for that game giveaway for today! LOL Expect it when you see it? Or stick with my motto.. 'expect the unexpected'!
True.There probably is a perfectly good reason for not posting today's game...but I feel they should've told WR about it.My guess is WR is feeling even more disappointed with Gotd right now than we are.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHIP !! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The person below me was thinking about strawberry cake with lots of genuine whipped cream when reading BK's comment.
:)
True! One of my fav kinds of cake!
Happy belated Birthday, Chip!
And Happy Happy Anniversary dear WR!
The person below me sometimes doesn't read the information pamphlet or help file before trying to make some thing work(either in real life or in computer land)..lol!
:P
False....didn't read it, of course, but when I wrote it I was thinking of vanilla with chocolate icing....mmm...mmm! Although the strawberry and whipped cream does sound mighty good too.
Forgot to say this before....Happy Anniversary WR! We were married in '79 too, but in September.
@ Sue...While cleaning out a closet I came across my grandmother's old Singer sewing machine that I forgot I had. It's one of those little black ones with the gold designs. Still in the original case with the original can of oil and all. It's approximately 60 years old, maybe a touch more and works like a charm.
-------edit--------
Now I'll answer Alianthia's since she beat me to the punch...lol
True, I try on my own first then read.
The person below me would love to be in a nice cool pool right now (I sure would).
Ohhh...BK, I would love to see your Singer...lol. I don't know why I am so taken with older sewing machines since I got serious into sewing. A few months ago a friend gave me one that comes with what looks like a suitcase. I just checked it out real good, last night, for the first time. That sucker is old. It doesn't have a date on it, or even a distinguishable model/serial #, but it is an old model. It has the old stitch selector, and bobbin winder on it, along with other per-modern things on it. It does have a good light on it; better than my other ones, so it seems.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
False - too late (10:20 pm), and the skeeters and other night-time insects would likely try and make a midnight snack out of me...lol.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The person below me got treated to fresh-picked figs, today. Boy, were they yum...yummy!
Nope - did not have fresh-picked figs (I guess I missed out on this yummy treat!)
_________________________________________________________________________________
The person below (like me) will eat at a seafood restaurant today.
False.. am fixing country style steak (cube steak) with gravy later.
Rosn.. hope you didn't eat too many of those figs! LOL
___________________________________________________________
The person below me is going to have another scorcher day today.. our 10 day forecast is hot, hot, hot with possible thunder storms each day. Good day to stay indoors!
Yes - we are also having a major humid heatwave in our area (hope it ends soon!)
______________________________________________________________________________________
The person below me will watch "60 Minutes" tonight - to get the latest news scoop.
Probably false....it depends on what they're covering but I don't usually watch the show.
Ditto here on the heat and humidity.....UGH!
Sue...I'll take a pic and post it for your viewing pleasure....lol
The person below me was outside early this a.m. enjoying the cool air before the heat set in.
Nope - I was puttering around my condo in the am.
_________________________________________________________________________________
The person below (like me) loves watching the "America's Got Talent" reality show.
Well...I wouldn't say "love" it but I do watch it, mostly cause there's nothing better on at that time, partly cause I get a kick out of some of the "crazies". LOL
The person below me is very happy there's been a break in the heat.
True...after some wicked storms it went from the 90's to the 70's!
P.S Thanks for all the birthday wishes you all are amazing! :D
I'll be looking forward to seeing it, BK.
(Chip) False - though my younger son wishes that were true...lol. He really enjoys playing pool!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The person below me just realized their water sprinkler, set up yesterday (Sunday) evening to water vegetable garden, is still on...unless BIL, who set it up/turned it on, has already turned it off, and didn't say so.
Note, just for the heck of adding the info: Minutes later, said person has now turned off water sprinkler...(chuckle).
False.. don't dare turn on water sprinkler in this hot weather.. plus we're on a well so if forgotten the well could run dry. Don't even wash the car at home.. in this heat must conserve! Oh, we did have a short thunderstorm yesterday afternoon and the temp dropped from 92F degrees to 80 in about 10 minutes.. then it stayed there.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The person below me is also on a well.
True - we live out in the country, aka 'the sticks', and we have a well. I don't know the source, but I do know that in the year my family and I have been here, it's never run dry. 'Course, we haven't tried to put it to the test, either...lol. It does serve all 4 of its human, equine, aviary (chickens), and vegetation consumers. I do occasionally water my one flower bed, as well, as the (occasional) garden watering. We only water the garden if it's been a few days since our last good rain, and it doesn't look like it's going to, any time soon. Gotta take care of our veggies now, as they take good care of us...<grin>.
The person below me, like me, has a nice big pile of wood chips, from the tree trimming truck that trimmed tree branches, and chipped up those branches on their street last week. They are going to use that as garden/flower bed mulch, this fall.
True,, except we had to have a big cherry tree taken down that died. I must admit that mulch pile has been there 2 years now.
