False.. we do have a room under the house, so it's not ranch style, and 2 steps to get into the back door which we use all the time.

Hey Copmom....know any good ways to use a couple of not so good peaches? I got some at the farm stand cause they looked and smelled so good. I was afraid it might be too early and I guess I was right....they're dry and "mealy". Any suggestion?

Copmom, I'm getting that thunderstorm right now, and boy is it nice. It's been so blasted hot and humid, we and the horses need the cooling off.
BK, you might want to make a simple cobbler with those peaches. If I was you I'd be getting a Bisquick recipe and make that type of cobbler; quick, simple, and easy. :)
Very Very true to BK. Also, my dad used to work for a company called VOTEC, not sure if they're the same thing or not. His company was involved in after highschool studies as well though.

False, but you never know what you might 'pick up' when getting things at yard sales or Thrift stores. Things that want to travel home with you (roaches, ticks, fleas, bedbugs, etc.). That's why I stopped shopping at those kind of places...bargain or not!
We did get that thunderstorm yesterday.. 60 mph winds.. power out for an hour from falling trees and branches.

Well, the bushes are a bit higher this year, so does that mean high bush? And we don't have wet soil. They are slightly shaded by the cherry tree. Only have about 6 bushes.. started with 8 but 2 didn't make it. Have to plant several types so they can cross pollinate.. so some are really small and some are really large.

False.....born and raised just 4 miles from here, as was my dad, and his parents, and theirs....not sure how far back it goes.
Robert....We have blueberry bushes that are 6-8 feet tall, is that what you mean by high bush? My dad has about 10 of them behind his house. They grow wild around here but it's just a bit early yet, they're usually ready near the end of July, so when Copmom's are gone ours will just about be ready.

Copmom them golden kiwis have a tropical flavor and taste much sweeter the green ones.
I'm sure they taste even better where they come from...
We're having a whopping 95°F by the end of week too...phew...
BK I'm not an expert on blueberries but I've been told "wild" (lowbush) blueberries are smaller than cultivated (highbush) ones.
So I will be popping in at Copmom's first.You're next :)

True.. but I also stay up late, which means I don't get enough sleep!
Hurry up Robert.. still lots more blueberries that haven't ripened yet .. the birds have missed them this year! I'm putting them in the freezer so they don't go bad. First year I've had any to speak of.. last year I got a 1/2 cup at the most!

True.... I used to do most of the cooking before my accident, but now I'm dangerous in the kitchen; having almost burnt it down a couple of times and destroyed two pan sets. I'll start to cook something, but can't stand around to wait because I can only stand for short periods, so will go to the lounge and watch some TV, but invariably will fall asleep. Unfortunately my wife hates cooking so our meal are..... well I wont say but I wish I was able to go back to my own cooking, lol.
I have odd hours at the moment. I'm still up by the time the dawn chorus arrives. I'll be in bed for most of the rest of the moring and sleep late afternoon till around 8 oclock
though if the kids need help with homework My wife will wake me. :) Aweful cycle of sleep awake pattern at the moment, but the strength of opiate meds i take just knocks me out.

True - I've not had it cut for several months - I keep threatening my wife that I'm going to grow it long again. I used to have it so long I could sit on it. But I doubt I'll every grow it again. I was meant to get my heair cut before we went on vacation over a month ago now.

True, the weather has changed over the last few days. From very hot to cool. I don't know what the temperature is, but i need my dressing gown on when i'm out of the study. (The study is always hot because of the heat being pumped out of the computers I usually have turned on all day and most of the night. 've not had the certral heating on in the study for years.
