I wholeheartedly recommend reading about Anne Frank's history, and visiting the exhibition (if possible). Under http://www.annefrank.org/en/Worldwide/ you can find out what educational material is available. A newsletter will keep you informed and is not only of interest for teachers and parents.

There is also the Anne Frank You Tube channel. There is film footage there of Otto Frank (Anne's father) talking about her diary, and an interview with Miep Gies, who helped to hid the Franks, among other videos.

There is also, startlingly, very brief film footage of Anne herself. She is seen on the balcony of the family apartment in Amsterdam, in a home movie which was made of a wedding party which was departing from the floor below. It is brief, and silent, but I found the opportunity to glimpse Anne herself, while alive, all these years later, incredibly moving.

Be aware that when the You Tube channel loads, an animated video about Anne immediately begins playing, with sound, so check your volume before you go to the site.

Ah yes Jefferson Airplane. Thestrong voice of Grace Slick while she sang with Jefferson Airplane. I use Slickwhiterabbit as one of my monikers in memory of the song sung by Grace Slick and is the reason I call myself Whiterabbit. I have very fond memories of this song.

Hoss, I hope you let me add one, as I really think most folks should bookmark this. It's not an original find by me. It's been mentioned in passing in these pages, first by Archangel a few years ago, in a great, HUGE list of search related sites - meaning both search engines and information clearinghouse type sites - which deserves a link:

and also by hotdoge, deserthead, and runessagemagik, but nobody's focused on it (that wasn't thier purpose at the time) and I think it deserves a special mention. It's a great consumer review site:

Consumer Search:
http://www.consumersearch.com

This is the best review site I've found. They collect reviews from many, many, online sources - one of the software types I looked up had fifteen sources - including online magazines, user reviews on software sites, etc.; then write an article summarizing the consensus opinion. Some of the advantages: the site has both quick reference "best picks" (and runnersup) but also writes a short but full report article on what they found about that product type, including what to look for when you make your own decision. They have different award categories where they think it will help: - "best domestic long distance plan", "best international calling plan", for example. They rate each review source - for example pointing out whether a software review article specified what they tested and how - and summarize the specific conclusions from some of the top reviews on each of Consumer Searches' "best" picks. They link to all the sources they use that can be linked to, so you can read the original reviews for yourself. They also always include a useful link page to general information - like virus classification sites in their AV article. And they realize that some of are "financially challenged", so they usually include a budget or free section in their reports, even if the budget or free products are a step or more below the full price products. I think this last is very useful in trying to decide whether to use free software or buy something.

They don't do everything, but do have dozens of types of products in quite a few categories: computers, electronics, auto, kitchen and food, etc.

Honestly, I can't think of a better place to start if you're shopping. A lot of information but organized so as to limit overload. Check it out!
