So, BuBBy, you have actually seen this image in real life? Can you tell me where it is? When I was searching for it on the net, I tried to guess all sorts of places, and then specify images, but I never found the image, so I guess I didn't guess the right place!! I'd love to know where it actually is.
Well yes. I've "been there" in real life many times, but no, I have not seen that wallpaper before.
Trying to find the original wallpaper would be very difficult (The Opera House is probably one of the worlds more popular building photographs).
The best option to finding that wallpaper is if Kat still has it, to upload just the wallpaper for you (instead of a screenshot of the desktop with icons & taskbar etc). Finding it again using something like Google Image Search could take a long time - and still not be successful.

BuBBy, I have just worked out that we are talking at cross purposes, you are talking about The Opera House in Sydney, and I am talking about Kat's original image of mountains and water and what looks like a coolie worker. Kat, if you are following this thread, do you know where in the world this image is? And, how did you google it? I know I am a nuisance but I would love to know where in the world it is. I just don't get sick of looking at this wallpaper, it is really beautiful.

Hi NolafromNz,
Glad I could find that wallpaper for you. I used google images. Put in "Vista wallpaper" and scanned until I found an image of a real vista wallpaper (not the one we were looking for, another one). Clicking on the original site led me to a collection of wallpapers including the one you wanted. Since I am familiar with these images it didn't take long!
Someone mentioned to me that they thought this was Thailand but I don't know. The name of the image is Gorge.jpg. I googled and found zilch!
Sorry I didn't see your post earlier Nola, I thought this thread had gone to heaven...

Hi Kat, BillW50 and BuBBy, Thank you all so much for the links, particularly the efforts you have gone to Kat. I have limited mobility and spend a lot of my day watching slideshows of beautiful landscape wallpaper and listening to music, so these links are appreciated by me more than I can say. I never get sick of looking at the beautiful scenes. I have already downloaded the zip file from the site you gave me Kat, and that lead me to another site by Hamad, so I am downloading his wallpapers now too. Again, thank you all so much. Have a wonderful weekend, we have gale force winds and squally showers here, which makes little difference to me with the scenes I am looking at,lol

i decided to uninstall this prg and when i noticed their could be problems with the uninstal i went step by step with the instructions..and on restart window loads goes all the way to when the desktop should show and i get a blue screen with working cursor.i tried several of the things mentioned here..ie going to the registry to schell ..mine list explorer.exe on that line..tried other things to no avail.went to astons website nothing there that might help..been installing and uninstalling progs for years never seen anything like this..dont really want to reformat..writing this from a second computor..any help much appreciated.

If you can get to the TASK MANAGER with <CTRL-ALT-DELETE>, select File, New Task(Run...) and type in EXPLORER.EXE. That should restore your desktop. If not, you'll probably have to reboot into SAFE MODE by pressing the <F8> key while rebooting. Once you ever do manage to get the desktop showing again, it will probably reset itself to showing all the time thereafter.
You shouldn't have to reformat. That should be the very last resort. You didn't say whether you tried using SYSTEM RESTORE. That is another choice from the <F8> key startup menu if the TASK MANAGER tip fails.

tried system restore..tried explorer.exe in task manager..didnt work..tried reboot into safe mode ...didnt work (it froze after a partial boot up)
even tried altering the registry as per some posts (different form) didnt work
finally went back to astons form and got another set of instructions..
went into task manager ..typed only the word explorer into it..got into my documents and tried then to access desktop but coud not..done it again and manageed to hit the explorer button ....downloaded a small executable to my documents clicked on it started the executabe..shutdown and started up and there was my desktop..whew..its been a long four hours of total frustration...tks for your prompt reply..and help

Hey Omilon: I can only strongly recommend you google Erunt and start using it. At one point I had to re-format my comp. Before having fully installed all programs, I reloaded an earlier registry which led to the super gau you experienced. Blue screen and nothing. It tried loading Aston, which wasn't there .... anyway, to make story short from Taskmanager I was able to get to the Erunt directory and restored the original registry. Worked like a charm ...

Does anyone have an answer for TubbyCat? This problem of Aston losing it's registration
may be widespread. These software companies want us to spread good words about their
products. They do have to function for that to happen. So does anyone have some idea
how to see what the activation, license number, registration code or whatever it is
called is? There are no rules against digging out this information for reinstallation
purposes. They just won't provide it to us.

Do other members know these people will delete your message as if it never existed.
I obviously stepped on some toes. So let me ask things in a different way and make
a different statement. My posting yesterday pertained to the question of TubbyCat
and it still does. We agree to install before the promotion is over. We do not
agree not to reinsert the license number when the software fails in less than
24 hours. So does anyone know of software or any other method to see what the
activation key numbers are? Have you noticed many of the software vendors here do
not try to hide the keys? But unfortunately some do.
Everyone please let me know how long it takes this posting to mysteriously
vanish.
