Hi everyone!
I am in Canada, but on the west coast in British Columbia.
(Other side of the country from you, Quantum!)
I too visit this site every day and look forward to fun chats and interesting games.
I am not yet retired but look forward to that day...lol!
My name is Mary(waves hello to the other Mary in Scotland!)Posted 16 years ago # -
A big Scottish wave to you Mary in Canada.
I would love to visit Canada one day. It always looks lovely on TV, films etc. Some of the pictures I have seen remind me of Scotland only bigger!!
It's very cold here tonight and my coal fire is playing up so time for bed I think.
G'night everyone.
Mary :-)

Hello everyone, glad to meet you all! I'm from the MidWest as my name says.... Wisconsin in fact. Was surprised that there were several ladies posting. Didn't think there were many ladies who loved games as I did. Probably the oldest one around here, but I keep young by playing the games. Not on here often, but happy to read all the posts. Hello again to all!

Welcome to all of you.. and glad to see so many are posting!!!
MidWestLady, I'm beginning to think there just might be 'more' gals than guys here, and yes, I too keep young by playing the games. I think it just might help prevent "old timers" from setting in.. keeps us using our minds!!
There's a job for one of you that likes statistics.. a census on how many male vs female on here!!!Posted 16 years ago # -
Hi, everyone...
I don't post much in the forums as I have limited time and energy, but figured I would pop in briefly to say hi to the old timers and welcome to the new comers. I currently live in Upstate New York near Rochester. I was born and raised in the KC MO area and have traveled to many different states as well as to India, Nepal, and Canada. I have lived in Illinois and California, as well as Ohio and Texas for two semesters of college. I spent a 4 yr term of service in the military. I imagine I will move once more as the property my husband and I own is taxed beyond comprehension and taxes have gone up again. Which makes no sense considering the property value has fallen due to the current economic crisis. But, hey, they don't ask before they take the money. I figure at this rate my husband will never be able to retire cause taxes will cost more than the mortgage. :-p If it wasn't for my computer and games, I think I would lose it.
For those of you in the USA, please vote on Nov 4th!

Hey Archangel.. since you're a retired Police Chief, do you have a warped sense of humor like my sons do??
Posted 16 years ago # -
Absolutely!!! LOL you don't know how warped.
I came up thru the ranks and I guess I had to tone it down once I made Detective but after making Chief we really had a blast (amongst ourselves and behind closed doors).
Sometimes I wished people knew just how "Real" we really are rather than seeing that "Straight" face.
Oh well, now I can be me!! What State did your sons work copmom? By the way I have 3 children. 2 in Law Enforcement and 1 an Apache Helicopter pilot in S. Korea.

Warped sense of humor. Heck I thought that was a pre-requisite to this forum, lol. Why I logged on. haha. Seriously, welcome to all and glad to see folks chatting who hadn't before.

Have you found the "Perverted" Forum yet nashcat? ROTFLMAO
Posted 16 years ago # -
Thanks Archangel. Now that's what I'm talking about. lol. Too funny. haha. I also became a member of Cybermart recently. I see many GOTD members there. Great minds do think alike. haha. I can also be found with Imeem, a music sharing site under Cat Collins, not my real name. haha. I love music as well. Paint to it. I see there are a lot of photographers here. I use a paint brush instead of a camera. For the record though, I do use photographs to paint by.

Okay Pookie, you gave up where you are from, but not your name!!! I have a lot of relatives in Michigan. They use to tease me growning up because of my southern accent. lol. Then they came down here? haha. It's amazing that even in a family structure you have a pronounced cultural diversity, no matter what country you are from.
Posted 16 years ago # -
I'm not a member of those but should check the sites out. LOL Ya'll versus You ens LOL. Yes we are culturally different. But thats what makes the USA great. We all still come together when something happens.
Posted 16 years ago # -
All that matters. We are in essence one big family when it comes down to it.

nashcat, my name is Ken.

Archangel.. we have 4 kids.. the two sons are both police officers (Lt., Sgt., whatever), one's a canine officer in NC and the other is in So. Calif. Oldest daughter is a paralegal and other works at a bank and hates it! She's in the midst of trying to get all the permits finalized, etc. so she can have a dog/cat boarding kennel built on the adjoining property they will purchase where they live.
Nashcat.. Paulga (Philip) is now the administrator of Cybamart. He posts here from time to time in between his current traveling. He used to be a regular/frequent poster on here prior to Cybamart.

Pookie......and here I thought you were a "she".
I'm guessing the count between male and female is about 50/50......I'd go back and count....but I'm too lazy......at least today. lol
Speaking about different cultures and things I was wondering if anyone has something to share that is known only in your state or area. For example, I live in the Poconos in PA, do any of you know what a Pocono egg is?
Posted 16 years ago # -
Buckleysmom..... Pookie in my pet name from my wife.
Posted 16 years ago # -
Hi Buckleysmom,
Just being curious about that Pocono Egg...Posted 16 years ago # -
Oops- Double post..
Posted 16 years ago # -
BK.. pocono egg.. is it a special egg to decorate for Easter?? Or an egg that has 2 yolks??
Posted 16 years ago # -
Hi every-one,thought I'd give my 2 cents worth. Long time lurker from the west coast of Canada desided to join-up.

Welcome Gonnzzo.
Pookie......awe.....how sweet!!
To make a Pocono Egg: Take a piece of bread and with a glass poke a hole in the middle (poke an o......get it Pocono) butter both sides of the bread. Lay it in a buttered frying pan and fry till toasty on the bottom then flip it over. Crack an egg open and dump it into the hole. Fry till the egg is whatever way you like it. Also fry the hole you cut from the bread. Ooooohhhhhh yummy!
Note: In some places they call this an "egg in a basket".....but it just doesn't taste as good if you don't call it a Pocono Egg.

Posted 16 years ago # -
