Welsh-born singer Tom Jones. ( I used to work at the UK's premier summer festival Glastonbury in the late 80's early 90's and one year it was rumoured that Tom Jones was going to be the surprise quest. Usually it had been big bands such as U2. There was a whispering of discontent throughout the whole festival because of this news. Anyway, it 'was' Tom who was booked. He brought the house down. I was into anything rock, blues, world music and a little Jazz back then, so wasn't looking forwards to his appearance, especially as I was working the main arena on that occassion. He got everyone dancing and singing, which is something I'd never witnessed before at Glastonbury and got the biggest ovation I'd ever seen)
