As a long time loyal member of ggod I was wandering why you have skipped 2 days this week? Is everything ok? If you are going to skip days than maybe you should give an explanation or change the name to game giveaway every other day, or game away when ever we decide to. I know that when you went on your 6 week vacation last year alot of us were very distraught. Communication is a key part of any business.
Whats up with the skipped games?

Memberuhh, like perhaps nobody came forward with a release (I gather ggaotd gets about an hour warning if that) and they'd run out of GO-T-H games in the reserve bin?

Notice would be nice, but jeeze, checking in and finding no new game should do- it ain't the end of the world, so why cry?
Is it *that* much effort to browse to a page, click 2 links and go 'aw shucks, no game today'? Or is it missing out on venting in the comments?
replay something you have again, it might be fun!

whine at the game authors. 'of the day' is small beer compared to the GIVEAWAY part, you can't give what you ain't got. betcha they don't like it either.

Due to popular demand and numerous requests from users, GameGiveaway is being replaced with SpreadsheetandGraphicalModellingToolsGiveawayOfTheDay. Specialising in statistical and charting programs. Each day will see a new plug-in, macro, or formula. Games will be available once a month (on the date of a new moon), but will always be educational in nature.
The game giveaway will form a new site - but will no longer be free. Games can be "purchased" by producing an original Japanese Haiku poem - on a topic decided at the commencement of the giveaway. Suitability of entries to determine eligibility to download will be decided upon by popular vote from other visitors to the site. Poems found to be of poor quality, will result in the game download being silently substituted with a screensaver.
Games will all run on Vista, as they will use no features specific to any graphical interface. All games will be sourced from vintage DOS based shareware CDROMs from 1988 - 1993.
It is all an idea of mine to keep the site interesting and unpredictable. By taking these measures I can ensure that there will always be a game on offer and the quality can be maintained at a consistent level.
Also ideas on the next planned offer - the normal software giveawayoftheday will be upgraded to "DriverOfTheDay" keep your video card, sound card or mouse up to date with the latest driver. A different Free driver every day. Way Cool.

Unregisteredmediocracy is bliss for some, me I expect people and companies to mean what thay say. Not a troll as some would say, just an observer, who has been here about 3 years and post when I have something to say and not to try to put down others who have a comment. as for the younger, thanks. As for world knowledge, US Navy veteran and have actualy seen it. So Dude you don't need to get nasty to those who express thier oppinions. MemberBubby, you make statistical software, plug-ins and macros sound bad! I for one have an arsenal of these...Statgraphics and MiniTab are two favorites. :)
I've also found ways to play my old DOS version, Leisure Suite Larry game floppies (not CDRs) on Windows XP. You have now idea how excited it made me to be able to play them again!
So bring them on! I'll take em'! LOL

See Slava's post on the GOTD Blog for the details. GGOTD should probably now be changed to GGOTW instead - it's weekends only from now on.
I'm just glad they're not shutting down and that they might go back to every day offerings sometime in the future.
