   You're welcome, and I'd not be one to dispute ""There are some 3000 euphorbia varieties and hybrids". And Goody's picture is one of them.", but of the variants I looked at, the structures- but not colors- match my guess best.

   the 4 crescents flanked by a pair of sub-blossoms was what convinced me.

   the ID on the 'Leafy Splurge' is more tenuous- the leaves fit and the blossoms look about right for immaturity.

   I mean, it's related to- but obviously not- a poinsettia or gum tree.

   'flowers and ferns' came from candy's row out by the road. common fiddlehead ferns and hyacinths.

   I agree with Gary, you really have a variety of plants to fill your photogenic needs. I was wondering....on those "whatever it is" flowers, do the buds that are now hanging open up into blooms at some point? If so it would be neat to see what they look like at that stage. I would think they'd be on the order of this one

   Now with all the pretty plant pictures, I've got the bug to start some serious planting here. We've been mulching a lot of areas (free mulch from a huge chipped up cherry tree that died), and now I just found a pkg. of cosmos flower seeds in the kitchen. Now that we've been talking about it, I'm going to put in a bunch of morning glories, and then hope we don't have any more freezes up here and that this year we'll finally have some much needed rain!! So far, we've got about 8 cherry trees flowering and this year the bees have pollinated them. All those trees are compliments of the mama tree that died. Spring IS in the air!

   dorset, england 2003.

   I'm wondering if they get green when the buds open.

   I have 2 euphorbias within a few blocks of each other. the one at the nazarine church are related, at least, to Euphorbia portlandica L. (Portland Spurge)

   the other I'm calling 'Leafy Spurge'.

   those first photos were the first I ever saw them- just like the conifers, tulips et al.

   all new memories made on the fly.

   the c200 rarely was worth using for closeups.

    I don't recall ever speaking of egg whites at all. only egg I brought out was brown.

    I do not limit the source of hints to this thread but maisey you replied and I think 'twas just alluded to here by graylox... I think. but all the truth is in the open, described in specific terms-

    indeed, it's a 7-ounce Belmont Brie. about a quarter depleted.

    hmm... perhaps a puffball in the sun, some bloomin' clover, and hya pal might be appropriate?
