OK.....so now it looks like the stuff in my freezer has been moved to the desk.
No you guys....it's smaller than all that stuff......well maybe not smaller than a thumbtack.
Question...are you saying this is ONE single item?

jinkazama - pencil sharpener? paper weight?? desklamp?
No to all. :)Try again.
It's very small; much smaller than any of these.
When in use, it is inserted into something else.
Look back at my other hints too!
Maizy.. maybe you'll find the snowshoes in the spring when the snow melts! And as for that hard mass in the pan.. let it soak overnight before trying to clean it! That's why I use silverstone coated baking dishes now, easier cleanup!
Now you've got me going through everything here in my office to see if it looks familiar! Instead I've found all the dust bunnies in here, and just like rabbits.. they multiply! Maybe I need to get busy cleaning instead of playing so many games??
Is it the inside of a cassette tape?
Is it a battery of some sort? Can we have a summary of the hints? (To lazy to go back and find them all)
copmom - not a cassette tape. I beat you to your post. Look above at the new hints. :)
The snowshoes are smashed! No good for anything. The girls got the pan cleaned. They used the baking soda and lemon on it. It looks shiny, good as new! Kelsea's cousin, KC is really into household tips and cooking/baking. She likes to invent new recipes. That's why the mess in the pan. I usually have a dishwasher full when she says overnight.
Possibly file folders w/tabs? (Also too lazy to check for old clues!)
HINTS TO WHAT IS IT? #8
1. It is plastic.
2. There is some other material inside the plastic.
3. Everyone should have more than one of these in their home. (I have many, but not all of them are in use.)
4. Common in homes/businesses.
5. This "thing" is quite small.
6. It's very small. Did I aready say this is small?
7. This thing is attached to something else.
8. When you see a completed unit, there are usually two.
9. When in use, it is inserted into something else.
For some reason all I can think of is a scotch tape dispenser! But that's not 'very small'... grrrrrrrr
LOL.....I was just thinking how we've come all the way from frig containers to thumbtacks
Buckleysmom - Don't for get the "vulcan blood" and "cat looking through a window"! Those had to be the most original guesses.
Wow! Suddenly, we are in the middle of white-out. It just became very dark in here and looking out the window, I can't see more than about 10'. We've already got about 8" of new snow yesterday. I hope it stops soon.
The hubby is having a party in our garage today. It's an annual event called the "Sausage Party". All his buddies and their families bring their homemade venison sausage and some side dishes. Needless to say there is some beer drinking involved too. Did I tell you that my husband works at a brewery? Yeah, he gets beer at a discount...he is very popular!
We got some last night....not quite 8", but we drove home from our friends and it took 3x's as long as usual. Of course we live on top of a mountain so no matter which direction we take to come home it's all uphill.
Yes I bet your husband is very popular. I love deer meat, don't get it much though, only one brother still hunts and he can't go very often. He runs excavation equipt and one day he was jumping off something and landed badly and bent his knee backwards so now he has a lot of trouble with it and as a result doesn't do as much physical stuff as he did in his "youth". He was always the most athletic one in the family (best looking too - ha ha) so it's sad to see him with this problem. He still does more than he should in spite of the problem. Oh heck, how did I get on this morbid subject anyway?
Yes those answers were "way out there".....kinda makes you wonder about people doesn't it? Hmmmmmmm
Oh dear.. so far I'm at the point on #8 of what it 'isn't'!! Ooops, about time for me to call my mom in NY, she's 91 now .. call her once a week at 11am.. laters!
Gee, I thought by now someone would have guessed what #8 is! OK, back to some major cleaning.. will check back in again later!
drawer or slide latch or catch? just woke up, and that popped into my head.
goodgotd - Not a drawer latch. But you, if anyone, should get this.
not tracking well, got a nail in the heel last night. I'll keep tryin', though.
OK Good, what is your profession, hobby etc. It's only fair that you tell us cause otherwise you're the only one who will know why Maizy says, "You, if anyone, should get this."
Pant, pant, pant, slobber, drool........UGH! This is driving me INSANE! I keep hearing Jack Nicholas saying, "The truth! You can't handle the truth!" I've taken almost everything apart trying to find something, anything that looks like this picture. Now I'm going to have to start on the computer so if you don't hear from me for a while it's because..............click..........
goodgotd - Ouch! I hope you are OK.
Buckleysmom - I'm so sorry I did this to you! I had no idea how real your obsession is. I would give more hints but that would certainly give it away. I'll bet you have at least 4 of these (that's 2 complete units) in your house, that are in use.
Well.....I hope you're ashamed of yourself. I begged you to stop. I pleaded, and said please no more of those infernal "What is it's". But did you stop? No, you had to go and send another one. You've known me like, FOREVER (well, at least 3 days) and should have known I'm loony and can't control myself. What were you thinking?
Oh brother, I really need to get a life!
OK, so these 4 very small plastic things with material of some sort inside that are attached or inserted into 2 other things to make 2 complete units that I probably have in use.......are they (the completed, put together units) visible to me while in use?
OK .. here goes! Drain hose on a washing machine, OR the end part of a flourescent light fixture that plugs into the fixture!
Oh, the humanity... USB plug(s) or phone jack plugs
You're now driving me nutz! I can't take much more, so I'm giving you a more complete picture of this thing. If you can't get now there is no hope for you! :D
==================================================
NEW PICTURE for What Is It? #8
==================================================
Buckleysmom - 2 of these connected to something else make 1 complete unit. (not 2 units)
The end of a phone line or ethernet cable end.
What are you plugged into up there that requires 2 of thems to make a complete unit, scubadude? I just unplugged my ethernet cord to be sure, and it lacks the cylindrical doohickey shown in the larger picture. Mine's just a bigger phone jack terminus. I thought the doohickey was just caught in the picture but it seems to be inside the plug. (note my command of the highly technical electronic lexicon)
Maybe because you have to plug it into the comp. or the modem, making it the second part???
I'm guessing Maize didn't want to give too much away by saying "complete connection", but "unit" is kinda misleading. I'm still confused about what's inside the plug. Do some ethernet jacks have a large male pin/female pinhole? (he asks, blushing modestly) I'm referring to the new/enlarged pix with the black felt tip pen-looking item with the silver ring around it. Maybe it's just an optical illusion.
I've been on Vicodin pain killers for the past two days, because I tore my knee up shoveling the stinking snow off my drive,so maybe I'm seeing things.
What cylindrical doohickey thing???
scubaguy - CORRECT! You win! Its a phone plug!

Complete picture of MODULAR PHONE PLUG (RJ11)

Her is your PRIZE
--------------------------------------------------------------
RM - you need 2 of these to make a connection. 1 on each end of the wires.
See the addendum to my last post. I would have tried to put Buckleysmom out of her misery by saying phone jack after the smaller pic was posted except for what appeared to be the knob of a stereo and a felt tip pen. The new improved pic only made the black felt tip pen seem more prominent to me.
Okay, Maize, that's why I don't usually play... unless I can crack a joke. I read too much into pix and hints and such.
