Hey, I go away for awhile and I come back to frying pans. Here is my little Griswold.

BK-1 I still don't have any real idea what this is. Been looking at everything close to me and even had hubby look. He said it looked familiar but he still didn't know. That's a bad sign. If he couldn't get it how would I?

BK-1 Round, eh? Is it round before or after you attach it to whatever it gets attached to? Is an office item?

graylox, I saw a set of cast iron cookware that didn't rust, didn't need seasoning, etc., but phooey.. $450. Not I.
Buckleysmom, we did the foster parent thing for 10 years when we lived in So. Calif. Took in mostly teens that were 'hard to place'.. we were the 'last stop' before 24 hour school. Had kids that we normally didn't want our own 4 hanging around with! They had problems. Then we burned out after all that time .. actually got tired of being a 24-hour policeman!! We did have some good ones.. had 2 foster daughters for several years. We still keep in touch. One recently came to visit with her 2 children and her ma-in-law. She's now a lawyer, mostly for children that are in the system!! The other one was in the Navy, married a career Navy man now lives up in Washington, and now she has 2 teen-age daughters.

Maizey....it's always round whether attached or not. Mines in the office, in fact it's right here on the desk at this very moment......but it's not an office item.
Copmom.....Yeh the 24 hour part is a bummer but then so is the saying good-bye. We had 21 foster kids (not all at once - we're not stupid - ha ha) who ranged in age from 18 months to 17 years. Plus I was babysitting at the time and we had adopted my niece so it was not unusual to have 10-12 kids in the house at once. We have some wonderful memories....of course there are heartbreakers as well......just goes with the territory.

Goody......oooook...uuuhhh yes the curve is raised, no it is not a groove for a cord, and no the rectangle is not a hanger clip.......but I think you're thinking in the right direction.

I don't know how you mom's did it. I never had my own kids because I didn't want any. I remember what I was like and I didn't want to deal with what my parents had to go through with me. Now I'm married to a guy who is 9 1/2 years younger and has two girls. One will be 12 in two months and the other turned 16 last July who unfortunately, had a baby in December. I love them all but this rough on someone who never had their own. The girls spend most weekends here during the school year and are here much more ofter in the summer. It's certainly a learning experience and a real challenge for someone who had been set in her ways.

Maizey......sorry girl.....I did look at it before.....honest. I just forgot to say anything. It's cute....okay? But would it be consdered a frying pan? (just wondering because that's what started the whole thing) Frying pans don't usually have legs do they?
I really think fostering is easier than dealing with a spouses kids from a previous marriage. When you foster neither has previous ties to the kids and the x's "baggage" is not an issue.

Maizey - It's so small what do you use it for? Oh...wait I know it's used to cook little itty bitty elf dinners in, Huhh??
copmom, those pans which didn't rust are expensive, but so very much better...nevertheless, I put most of them aside, they are too massive to handle.
maizeydaze nice little thing, but what does Griswold mean ?
I wish you good luck with your new children, you got them as a present, and you became a grandmother too, congratulations ! Look on the bright side of it.
you 2-moms you did a very precious job as foster moms ! It is a fantastic feeling, seeing that a child has found it's way. I could only help in a minor degree. I went to my son's class and tried to help some children who could not read. It was a great moment, as a 9 year old boy, suddenly screamed "I can read, I can read!" The next time I couldn't get enough books for him, he devoured one book after the next. He lived in a disastrous family and had to hide his books. Short time after this, he and his brother left their family and lived in a children's home.

Morning all! graylox, I too, have a hard time with cast iron since they are heavy.. but I keep 2 (same size) strictly for making my fried chicken and/or fried potatoes!! Nothing compares to fried chicken make in a cast iron skillet!
Now, I've just spent a bit of time here looking all around for different items I might have here that look like your picture, and I've drawn a total blank! And your 2nd picture is MUCH clearer than the 1st one was.

Okay, BK-1 is part of a camera. That was only a guess from your clues. I still don't recognize it. A flash unit? A battery? A lens? Dunno? You must think I'm smarter that what I let on. :)

She guessed that it's part of a camera, which is correct. If she looks at her Sony Mavica I'm sure she'll get it. If not then I'll give more clues if everyone wants to keep going or I'll just reveal the answer. I really didn't expect this to go so far, I thought someone would get it right away.

BK, I have TWO Mavicas, a FD100 & a FD87 & there is nothing on them that looks anything like your closeup! Sorry, Charlie. :(

Maizey.....I am so shocked. I know for sure the FD87 comes with one of these and I'm pretty sure th FD100 does as well. Maybe yours is missing, but I wouldn't think it would be missing from both of them. What if I tell you that what you're seeing of BK-1 is the "inside" so when it's actually in use you won't see that part? Does that help?

If it's the AV cord, I never used use it. Gave it to my mother-in-law. I don't use and can't find the usb cord either. I looked at batteries and yours should be the same as mine, NP-F330 or NP-F550. The don't look like BK-1. I have a memory stick for the FD100 but not the FD87. The FD87 was just given to me with a charger. I can't find the pattern on it either. Nope, unless I've overlooked something.

Is it a lens cap? My FD87 did not come with one and the one on the FD100 doesn't look like that. The lens diameter is bigger on the 87 but the thread size is 37mm on both.
