goodgotd- that is one solid cat!
i missed out on another game, but i'll take a stab at this one (although i'm not very confident).
-some sort of aluminum siding or gutter?
He's a moose, and that's a fact.
would you believe when they were kittens, both bandit and his sister could squeeze under the door to our bedroom? inch-and-a-half gap, no more.

and it looks more like quilting, it's overlapping wavy-edged strips, left to right, the center of each is glued or heat-welded to the dark stuff behind.
That's the vertical light strips you can see...
too thin and regular for cloth, though. if she didn't say these are scaled up I'd believe wallpaper- unless it's in a dollhouse. hmm. doll clothes?
the image also looks like a wrigleys gum wrapper, although i'm quite sure it's not.
goodgotd- i would totally believe it. one of my cats (although, i have none now- :( ) was the runt of the litter. he was so tiny he was in danger of getting eaten by our ferret at the time. we seriously considered returning him to the animal shelter. he ended up being a 20 pound cat, and not terribly fat, either- just solid. it was kind of sad when he first started growing, spike (ferret) ended up raising fred (cat), so that fred actually thought he was a ferret! as he grew, he couldn't fit into the small ferret hang outs. he would just sit there with a nose and a paw sticking in and cry. he also never learned to jump, he would climb (a la ferret) onto everything, chairs, windowsills, etc. the only time he ever jumped was when he was scared or racing around the house and instinct took over. if he thought about it, he just couldn't do it. he lived 15 years and had a good life.
yeah, had cats since a kid, outlived most of them- been forcibly enslaved a time or three, I just seem to smell good or something.
our oldest housecat now did that, she must be 11 or so.
no, I haven't given up, maizeydaze, just letting the back-brain work while riding out a med attack.
Hello there! I'm back. So far, all of the guesses for Pic #7 are really cold. Keep on trying.
I've got two "fat cats" too. Mitchie has been so big that his belly almost touched the ground. He lost a little weight but he still jiggles when he runs. Which isn't very often! Kirby appears to be bigger than he really is because of his long hair. Both of my boys are 14 years old but they don't look it.
I also have two dogs ... the girls. Weezer, a 12 year old, Border Collie mix, is nicknamed "Hunk O' Dumb". She's the comical one. She makes us laugh with her poses/actions and unique vocalizations. The "real" Maizey, a 13 year old, Australian Shepard, is my little sweetie. I have always been her person while Weezer attached herself to my husband. Maizey developed cataracts over the last 2 years and is now almost completely blind. It breaks my heart to see her bumping into walls and wandering around lost. What's even worse is that her hearing is going too. Her favorite pass time has always been attempting to catch fish in my trout pond. She still had a little sight last year and was able get in the water and could hear the fish splashing around her when I threw food in. Up until about 3 months ago, when her sight got real bad, she was very active and fairly healthy. Now she sleeps the better part of the day and it's very difficult to wake her. Hopefully, she'll get better when this cursed snow is gone and I can get her outside more. I know she's old but I can still hope.
I've been uploading pictures of them and I'll post links when I'm done.
Got some pictures of my handsome boys and beautiful girls uploaded. These are all from the past 4 years. Anything earlier was taken with film cameras and my scanner isn't working very well. It recently, started scanning very dark on one side. It makes me angry because the warranty just ran out a couple months ago. Figures!
Here are the pics:
Mornin all. Is #7 a piece of rain gutter?
Oops, just noticed that guess is taken. Hmmmmmmm back to my thinking cap.
Love the pet picks, the little kitties are so adorable Goodgotd, and your dogs a gorgeous, Maizeydaze. I had cats for years, my last one died in 2004 (you can see her on my website if you're interested....http://www.geocities.com/tedibearpa. After Heidi died we got Buckley our baby. I have some pics of him on Ringo but my account there has been giving me trouble so I think I'll move them to another pic sharing service. Anyway, he's a cockapoo, but he's twice the size we expected, he weighs 40 lbs, everyone thinks he's a springer or brittany spaniel. He's our pride and joy....spoiled rotten of course. He'll be 4 in June.
It's snowing again....UGH!
Buckleysmom - Just got back from your website. Heidi was a very pretty kitty. Saw the one of her with your bears too. You'll have to get those pics of Buckley up so we can see him. 40 pounds is big for a cockapoo. Weezie, the border collie, weighs about the same and her back is above my knee (I'm only 5'3" though).
Oh, and it's been snowing here since yesterday! Got about 6" of new stuff now.
@maizey.....Thanks, Heidi was a good cat, we always said she thought she was a dog cause she'd make this sound sometimes that was more like a bark than a meow and she would play "fetch". She was great for making me feel safe when I'd come home, if everything was ok she'd be at the top of the steps waiting for me. If she wasn't there I knew something was up. I haven't worked on my website in several years other than to change my email address or fix little things. Now that I'm "retired" I'd like to work on it more, and get Buckley on it.
Hey, I'm in the Poconos, where are you?
Oh yeh, also, my Dad has a border collie mix but she has real shoet legs like a corgi. Her name is Lucy and she's mostly white with a black spot by her tail and part of her head. She has the border face. She's not all that pretty but she is such a sweet dog it makes up for it. She is so good too, he doesn't even have to put a leash on her. Wish I could say that for Buckley. Buckley's smart and he listens pretty well, but he loves to run so if he's off the leash he goes at top speed.
wow- everyone has such cute pets.
maizey- this pic is driving me nuts! i finally am able to get in on the game and it's a very tricky picture.
Buckleysmom - My dogs have always been of-leash but not in populated areas. We live in the woods and the nearest neighbor is a mile away. I put Maizey on a leash when we walk now because it makes her feel more secure. Weezie used to take "walk abouts" on her own. She'd visit people at their camps, find something rotten to eat or roll in or chase squirrels. One day, a couple years ago, she got stuck in a snow bank in the freezing rain. I couldn't find her for about an hour. When I did, I had to step on the snow bank and dropped in up to my waist. I grabbed her out then climbed out on my belly, dragging her behind. That was such an experience for her that she quit the "walk abouts".
I'm in Elk County about 4 or so hours from you.
There hasn't been any guesses for awhile, so here is a hint:
It's smaller than a bread box.
mailbox (a small mailbox)?
Naw, Funky.
A trick to "seeing" these closeups is to step back from your monitor and look at it. There is the possibility that this is something that you have never seen before though. Maybe it's more of a guy thing. I don't know. :)
toaster heating element?
err, elastic strap or band? bra even?
Here's a guess for #7.. either treads on a tire, or something cut with pinking shears?
maizeydaze question for you, can dogs have cataracts removed from their eyes?? Just wondered.
Love all the pictures of kitties and doggers! We're animal lovers here too, don't even want to think of what we spend feeding all the critters. We have 2 house dogs, 4 feral kitties outside (I've tamed one and even picked her up today when she came into the house), while the dogs were NOT in the house.. and we have daily visitors every morning of wild turkeys. Of course they're after the cracked corn hubby throws out for them.
We had snow here today, not too deep, but it never got over 20 degrees all day, so brrr! OH got my replacement hard drive today, just need to install it, AFTER I vacuum out the tower since it's been sitting open and the dogs are in the house! Dog hair and fans don't get along too well.
goodgotd, where did you get a Jewish keyboard. That might be handy in our business! Have you ever used the program called Dagesh Pro?
Ugh, everything seems to be running slow tonight. I can't figure this one out Maizeydaze, you got me baffeled. How bout another clue? I'll be checking now and then during American Idol to watch for more posts.
@copmom- ebay, Item number: 6863178694
NEW SOLO 2300 2500 2550 KEYBOARD (PLEASE READ!) ~ADEAL~
over 1490 left, it was cheaper than the 'stock' english older part # replacement.
And no, I haven't got a clue what to use the jewish markings for as I don't grok jewish. (raised protestant, relaxed agnostic)
Aside from figuring anyone who got offended seeing it was worth offending!
(and being warped, enjoy having unique stuff anyway.)
@Buckleysmom- did you check the picture at http://img252.imageshack.us/my.php?image=aaahhhhyesmpi8.jpg ? my dsl bridge and gateway/router are separate- 7 years of dealing with and bugging 3com to learn more...
No one has it yet.
Another hint for closeup #7:
There is more than one object shown in this picture.
-----------------------
copmom - Dogs can have cataract surgery but it's very expensive. http://pocahontus.doit.wisc.edu/VetMed/HTML/Lan/catframe56.htm
I know what you mean about the hair in the tower. I just cleaned mine out when I installed a new video card a few weeks ago. There was a lot of it. Going to have to get in there more often.
My hubby throws corn out too. We get more deer than turkey and loads of squirrels and mourning doves. Bear come in when it's not so cold. He has a motion light over the feeder so we can see the critters at night.
---------------------------------------------
goodgotd - Judging from the picture and your description of your laptop, it's obliviously been MacGyvered. :D
MacGyvered -(idiomatic) (informal) hastily assembled from spare parts, to use unsuitable items to construct something lethal, or at least useful.
Re: #7 what is it... verticle blinds, or rolls of linoleum???
We have the morning doves here too.. loads of them. Problem, we feed the birds, we feed the cats, even had a neat bird feeder 'tree' built, so what happens? We have the poor birds set up for the cats to stalk! They like stalking the squirrels too!
goodgotd, Will check out that ebay item! Thanks!
goodgotd!!!!!!! Got it! Went to eBay and it was $9.99 + $7 s/h, total $16.99. What's funny is if it's a scam, (or anything like that), the seller is in Escondido, CA and my son just 'happens' to be a cop there! LOL LOL
Does it have something to do with a razor for shaving?
Goodgotd....yes, that is quite some cat.....a beauty!
yep, homebrew panasonic toughbook without most of the armor and cost.
I've been compared to MacGyver a few times, usually annoyed sour-grapes comments from folks that failed going by 'the book'- as I take any approach that'll work, no matter how unusual.
But far lower profile- pain hurts.
I have proof that the upper/display and the lower/motherboard units in this laptop were from different sub-models before I got it, as it has the internal modem- but the upper case doesn't have that half of the hole for the socket molded in. I'm thinking up how to use the aluminum plate as a radiator so I can water-cool it and completely seal it :)
more than one object, huh? that might be a draw curtain?
a path as well as a cat. lower left corner.
copmon - sorry, not vertical blinds, or rolls of linoleum. Remember first hint... smaller than a bread box.
My cats only hunt moles and voles. They spent more than 10 years indoors because my old house was on a major highway. Now I let them outside while I'm outside. They don't seem to have much interest in birds unless they see them through a window. I think they are a bit afraid of them when they're close. Maybe it's because because the ducks I used to have chased and pounced on the cats. Wild predators killed my three cute little Khaki Campbell ducks. I really liked them and they also served well as an alert system for when anyone or anything came onto the property.
Not a razor or a draw curtain.
Please.....more hints! please, please, please!!!!!!!
Is it a holder for rolls of paper, the zig-zags being cutters?
