   Thanks for the prize,I went to bed just after posting my guess,thats why I'm so late in posting a reply.The brass back edge of the shell (primer cap)is what gave it away.Just one of those things I saw instantly.
   Hope your back and the dogs are feeling better,I can't stand to see an animal suffer.

    not living, no grubs or cat claws- it's not supposed to bend though it is tubular and a close-up- but getting it wet is a Bad Thing.

    on a small scale it is distantly related to a vent hose- but not closely at all aside from guiding air... on a small scale.

    just woke up, found that one last night as set up but never used.
