PHONE JACK! Kept thinking it looked familiar.. at least now I know and I can sleep peacefully tonight!!!!!!!! And even get my mind onto other things.. like finishing the pile of papers on my dining room table for taxes! Hubby said that's about the only time I use the DR table.. tax time! Unless it's a holiday and we have the kids and grands here. We usually just eat on TV trays since there's only the 2 of us.
Now my brain is clicking on items here, must break out the digital and snap some pics so I can possibly add to the items to guess!
I've got to make a Wal-Mart trip today I guess. Had some thunder/lightening earlier this week, and somehow my desk phone/answering machine is messed up as well as it's cordless, (the buttons don't register when I press to dial, and there's a click, click when talking), and also the electric bedroom clock died or got fried. It was blinking 12:00 and wouldn't reset at all.. this time I'll get a battery clock! All they had at Sam's Club yesterday were ALL cordless.. I don't want a cordless! Still have a portable that plugs into the "PHONE JACK" LOL new in the box stuck on a closet shelf, so might just put that to work as well.
And, just to be on the safe side, I think I'd better start shutting off and unplugging the computers so we don't lose another one of those! (Unless I'm doing a major download). This one is usually on 24/7 but I think I'd better listen to myself!

copmom - I'd welcome having you and/or some of the others to take their turns submitting pictures for the game. That's why I posted how I do it, several pages back. You know, I'd like to play too!
I have this great little battery operated Sony alarm clock, but it's from the 1980's. It's a cube about 5"x5"x4", has an AM/FM radio and you can set the alarm to sound with the radio, a beeping sound or a digital version of "Here Comes The Sun" by the Beatles. I love it and hope it never breaks. I only paid $3 at a yard sale, in the mid 80's.
I have a ups surge protector on my PC.

scubaguy - Thank you too for suggesting that others take a turn.Good video! Reminds me of when I was a hot young chick in the 70's. My equally hot friend and I were walking downtown, in our halter tops (no bras) and hip huggers, and there was this young fella in his car riding down the street; gawking at us and trying to look cool. He failed to notice that he was driving toward a curb when he jumped it and slammed into a stop sign! He wasn't physically hurt but I think he ego took a beating. We stayed while the police and tow truck showed up. Couldn't leave...we were witnesses to the accident, after all! LOL!

scubaguy - what happened to your video? Just got done posting the above and it's gone!

Trying to edit it because the link went to my album edit page and not to the video only. Can’t seem to get the correct link for the post in the forum, and I’m using the one photo bucket suggests. Now I’m having problems with my word processor, do not like Vista.
Will try to get it back up, I’m testing the link from Photobucket on the video by E-mailing it to myself.Posted 16 years ago # -
a bull's eye of such a thing, shooters should shoot on when shooters shoot for shooting-training
Posted 16 years ago # -
graylox - How must shot did a shot-shooter shoot, if a shot-shooter could shoot shot? Whoa! Not a bulls-eye.

Whew....did I sleep late today....missed church and everything. But I see you guys have been busy.
Scuba....no offense taken. My first thought was baby birds but you had already said that, plus I figured that would be way too easy after #7 and 8. The thing that kinda looks like a fold made me think of an octopus so that's what I said knowing full well it would be .......wrong again.
Funkymom.....yeh me to on the lol thing.
Maizy....papers? Do I have papers? Why yes, I have papers, all kinds of papers, big papers, little papers, pretty papers, funky papers, plain papers, printed papers, papers, papers everywhere, I'm swimming in papers (kinda like Scuba), I read papers, I count papers, I dreeeeeam papers, I looooooove papers. And now I'm going to go play with my papers.......(convinced yet?)

Scuba....gorgeous cat, looks like one my FIL had years ago. Looks like a pretty big one too.

Scuba......your link started to open a video, then it said, "oops, no video". Of course now you HAVE to fix it or we'll just have to keep hounding you till we can see what it is. Speaking of hounds.......your #9 prize is so adorable......good job Maizy

Maizey,
"Veers towards", perhaps; but hopefully without ever loosing balance and falling in. The difference between a gentleman and a boor can be measured by the width of a curb. The Curb & the Gutter
by RuneSage
A gentleman wishes no embarrassment upon his mate, thus he won't kiss and tell. OTOH, a boor brags disrespectfully about conquests to one and all, valuing public adoration above private admiration.
A gentleman dances along the curb, content to titillate, without need to step in the gutter. OTOH, a boor instinctively jumps down and splashes around to attract attention.
A gentleman lifts a damsel over gutters and puddles, escorts her around, or, in rare cases of excess chivalry, casts his coat across the divide. OTOH, a boor is delighted to drag anyone within reach down to his level, regardless the mess made or cost incurred.Posted 16 years ago # -
scuba- cute cat. i was able to watch the video from the same link with the cat pics.
cute video.maizey- very appropriate prize. i just figured you might sleep later than usual after all the "partying" and boozing.
i don't have a guess on pic #10 yet.
it looks so familiar, but i always think that.:D

Bottom of a ball mouse?

oh darn!
gsm- you may be right.Posted 16 years ago # -
:0) If it isn't, then I'm super-stumped! lol
Posted 16 years ago # -
Scuba.....that worked......that video is so funny. I had to send it on to a few friends.
Rune....I read your little story (so deep for such a bright sunny day) and wondered what brought that on so I went back to previous posts, then I saw the one about "someone" panting and drooling. Let me assure it.....there was nothing sexual involved or intended. It was just the ramblings of an insane nutcase, namely......me. So your mind, whether teetering on the edge of the curb or slipping headlong into the gutter below, doth so alone. lol
Maizy....that dialectizer is a hoot. I have to show that to my brother (not the hunting one, one of the others) he's always emailing me in "redneck". He'll love it.
Funkymom.....I agree, it looks like someting very familiar. Any hints Maizy? Are we anywhere close?
Posted 16 years ago # -
Ooh, ooh, is it an air vent of some sort?
Posted 16 years ago # -
GSM....good guess but I don't think so b/c if you look closely at the white part it seems to curve up toward the gray part, so if it were a mouse it would be sitting up on a "hill" sort of. See what I mean? Of course I could be totally wrong.....that's been none to happen a few times......like every one of my guesses so far. Another thing, the white part looks like metal that is textured (like the frig door). I don't know of any mice that are made that way. Am I over-analyzing?
Posted 16 years ago # -
Yes Buckleysmom. I see what you mean. But the grey 'thing' still looks to be a sphere to me....now you have me re-analyzing though...hehe
Posted 16 years ago # -
GSM...well actually, I didn't see it (the gray part) as a ball until you mentioned a mouse.....but now it does seem like a ball rather than a flap like I originally saw it. Believe it or not I actually took the air conditioner cover off to see if I could see anythiung like the picture.......no dice......back to the drawing board.
Posted 16 years ago # -
dangit, woke up too late, gsm got it, the 2 grooves to remove the cover for cleaning are obvious. D'oh!
Posted 16 years ago # -
This pic instantly reminded me of those real old ball mice that were sealed. The ones with no access......anyone remember those?
Posted 16 years ago # -
Hi, Buckleys,
I am intuitive enough to know there wasn't anything untoward in your words, but the words themselves made for a wicked double entendre, useful for my feigned defense in the banter with scubadude. As has been said before, when it comes to forums and emails, black & white print is a risky medium for levity or even for mixed company discourse, especially now when political correctness and imagined slights roil innocent word play. With nothing but the overused emoticon smiley and wink to convey meaning, the line between the crude and insulting, titillation and risque jocularity is narrower than a curb. For some, it's as thin as skin, with nary a riser of separation. If people think me a redneck or that my mind's in the gutter, it is their choice to jump to that misunderstanding. Many who jump the wrong way do so either because of past hurts or polarized POVs. I am a paronomasiac who refuses to parse or censor for the sake of all those who might be overly sensitive to one thing or another. OTOH, if my mind were truly in the gutter, there are other "izers" floating around the net that would have made for a crude retort. I didn't take that route, because I know where the curb ends and the gutter begins. On a weekend, this is as deep as it gets, so there's no need for hipwaders.Posted 16 years ago # -
GMS - You are right! It is the bottom of a "ball mouse".

Woo! Nice job. Very creative prize maisey! I'm a beginner when it comes to animation & photo manipulation but this little gif will hopefully inspire my creativity :)
I really wish I could contribute some pics to the thread, but my old digi-cam bit the dust a few months ago.....I will be getting a replacement soon though!
