Starship Inactivity - Reactivated, a remake of a game that I designed for a University course, was finally completed. Starship Inactivity is a puzzle game with gameplay similar to Auditorium. In this game you are the Chief Engineer on the Starship Inactivity who has to collide particles of matter and antimatter to generate power for the ship. Particles can be manipulated by using objects known as Energy Fields. You must also send particles through Containment Field Generators before colliding them to prevent a reactor overload and destroying the ship. This game features 28 levels and a level editor and if anyone is interested you can generate level codes to post online.
The download also includes the original version of Starship Inactivity, also known as "The Adventures of Captain Kook and the crew of the Starship Inactivity" or TAoCKatcotSI. I created it last fall for a University game design project along with a team of 2 other programmers and 1 artist. This version has 14 levels, but it is unsupported if there are any bugs. I also remove the ability to save/load level codes from the level editor now that it is outdated.
Controls:
Game:
Mouse - Click and drag Energy Fields
Space - Pause Game
Esc - Quit Level
Editor:
Mouse - Click and drag objects
Mouse Wheel - Rotate object (Emitters/Direction Field)
Known Issues:
- It might lag in some of the later levels with lots of particles on screen
- There is a bug where collisions are not detected if particles are moving in the exact same direction (can occur after hitting a direction field)
- Music is not yet implemented
