Today's game is an excellent platformer titled Igneous. Here's just a quick little synopsis from the developer:
Igneous is an action platformer where you play as a tiki totem trying to escape from a raging volcano. By running and jumping, players have to navigate their way through dark caverns, forge raging lava rivers and cross crumbling bridges to make it out of the inferno alive. With stunning graphics and intense physics, each level is a new challenge to overcome. Easy to pick up, but hard to master, Igneous is an adventure you won't soon forget! Escape!
HOLY WOW!!!!! This game is beautiful.......and incredibly hard! The whole pace of the game is like playing Sonic. For fans of Sonic, this is a game for you. That being said, the recommended specs are rather high (this truly is a beautiful game...one of the best looking graphics I've seen for a free game.) So long story short you basically just run and try to dodge various objects that are flying at you from the back and front of you. The hardest part is when the bridges start falling apart and you have to jump from one to the next. You'll just have to either play or watch the video to understand. The following are the System Specs:
- Igneous will only run on Windows XP / Vista / 7 Operating Systems.
RECOMMENDED SYSTEM SPECS:
-- High end Nvidia (9600) or ATI graphics card (Shader model 3.0 required)
-- Dual core processor (Intel Core 2 Duo)
-- 2GB RAM
-- 200MB Hard Drive Space
-- Xbox 360 Controller*
You will probably want to break out your 360 controller for this one. For those of you without a 360 controller, you'll have to stick to mouse and keyboard as there is no other support for gamepads. By the way, you don't need the high end graphics card it's just recommended. My Nvidia 8800 did more than great so even the lower end graphics (6000 and 7000) cards should be adequate. Don't expect much in the way of music. It's basically just tribal type music with lots of drumming and bass. For those of you who have Sub woofers, I'd turn the bass down a little. All said 5/5 from me, and definitely one of my new favorite games from this project.
