The following game was originally posted by Freeware Fan, a guy who used to frequent these forums back in 2007. Early in 2008 he started a project not dissimilar to the one I started. He had planned to post games for 50 days (don't ask me why he chose 50 except he may have been working from one of the many lists that abound on the net); however it only lasted for 9 days. He posted a note saying he had a big project on elsewhere and would continue with the free games at a later date. He never returned.
I thought I'd remembered downloading the game previously, so went ahead and posted the game only to discover that it was a browser game only. We don't usually include browser games in this thread, but as I've just spent quite some time on it I thought I'd leave it in place. There's still another game to download, and, id I have time later I may add another game that I was originally going to post today as well, but I spent most of this morning cleaning the inside of my main comnputer and insalling yet another power supply . It's been running for over three hours now and hasn't cut out, so it seems I was right about the last new power supply that I bought last week; that is that it was a faulty one. Much to my relief as I though there may have also been a motherboard problem, which would have cost slightly more to replace and take much more time to fix.
Anyway I’m going to resurrect some of those games and include them in the free games project over the next week or so as most were excellent games. The first of these is included in today’s selection of games and is called Platform the Game (or The Platform Game). Here’s a copy of Freeware Fans post:
The Platform Game
Today's offering is a somewhat novel idea: an episodic puzzle/platforming game that you play in a browser. Interesting enough, but taking control of two separate characters and splitting them up to solve increasingly intricate puzzles makes this the best thing since The Lost Vikings.
The menu choices on the opening page are pretty much self-explanatory, so you shouldn't have any trouble navigating the site.
reference accessed 15th Dec 09 HERE
You can see all the menu choices by following the link I’ve created to the slideshow. theres about 20 images to scroll through.
For a browser game this is quite good. I went straight for the last level initially and lost the whole point of the game. After navigating through all the dialogue, I got zapped immediately the first time. I didn’t really know what to do, but figured the arrow keys for movement and was able to avoid being killed, until that is I started to become distracted by the need to find a key that would enable me to use the laser that my robot suit was fitted with. It was at this point that I realized this was actually the end. So I started right at the beginning, lol.
You’ll probably have to install an active X for this game; (Adobe Shockwave), well you will if you’re anything like me and have recently formatted my discs and started a fresh install, so all those usefull programs that have been installed over the previous year have vanished as I didn't bother to back them up..

Santa Claus in Trouble (8.3Mb)
I thought as its Christmas I should inject a little festive fun into the project. This game is a great looking 3D platform game that should keep all the family happy (unless you’re deeply into games like the latest Call of Duty: World at War II game, lol
Santa Claus in Trouble is a multilingual(10 languages), 10 level, 3D platform game in which you play Santa and must retrieve all the lost Christmas presents and find the way back to your sleigh in order to save Christmas. It's not easy finding and getting all those presents because there are many obsticles in your way. Some of these include trolls, mean snowmen, moving platforms and chimney fires. Even at times; just jumping from platform to platform can be dificult and it is a Looong way down! There are checkpoints along the way, so if you die you will restart at the last checkpoint that you reached. At the end of each level your score is calculated and based upon total number of presents collected and the amount of time remaining. The game keeps track of your 10 top scores but, the online score keeper is no longer available.
With its lively Christmas tunes and holiday sound effects, Santa Claus in Trouble is certain to get anyone into the holiday spirit. The screen shots don't do this game justice. The graphics are superb! There is not a whole lot in the options department but the config.txt file makes up for this. The in game options consist of music and sound voulume controls, controller type and language. The only thing that this game is lacking is a save game feature. There are three annoying exit screens with ads for their other games, but if you exit by pressing Alt+F4 these will not appear.
Configuration file:
The configuation file called "config.txt" can be opened just by double-clicking on it and has the following default values:

Fullscreen 1 (use a 0 to run in a window)
Language 0
UseFog 1 (can be 0 or 1)
Controller 0
Music 85
SFX 100
