Zaz is an open source arcade action puzzle game where the objective is to get rid of all incoming balls by rearranging their order. Currently it includes 6 different levels. A 3D accelerator is needed for decent gameplay. It is an ongoing project, so it will be worth adding the download site to your favorites as newer versions will be released. I believe the next version will have royalty free music included.

Conception of this game is not completely new. It is a bubble puzzle clone, with some unique ideas and some borrowed from well known commercial games. This game is much harder than the usual bubble shooters because you have to remove a bubble and replace it to make up matches of three. There are only several levels, but I couldn’t get past level one after several attempts, so had to borrow most of the images I’ve posted from the net by googling the name of the game.
Bubbles and shooter (you) can move in designed roads (lines). You lose, when bubbles reach the hole in the end of the line . Unlike other games of this genre you do not automatically get balls at your shooter. You have to take them yourself and then shoot them next to the same color. You may earn special items (better aim, roll back lines of balls or stop lines of balls.) if ball with the appropriate sign is destroyed.

This project is about freeware and indie developers. So when I started this project last year I chose not to post games from sites such as Gametop, Freegamespick, MyPlaycity and a few others which give away ‘commercial’ games. The reason was mainly because those games often came with a non cash based price such as having to install tool bars, forced to watch in game ads and even browser hijacking, or having your browser opened to the web sites home page when you closed the game down (the latter being the least innocuous IMO); however, that said, sometimes I will mention a game in passing (that only supports the latter negative), usually to support an indie/freeware game that is similar. Today is one of those times when I feel you may benefit by downloading one of those games, especially if you like todays freeware version. There are two games of this genre, which are part of the massive match three games genre, and a sub set that I usually associate with games like the Luxor series, that are basically bubble busting games.
Gametop are now rated yellow by site advisor. They used to be green until recently when newer games started to be introduced with tool bar and browser hijacking included. Most games now have a checkbox that ask if you want to set your home page to Gametop, which is basically a hijack, though technically not as you’re agreeing to it, lol). Anyway, be sure to uncheck the box during the installation, otherwise you’re going to have to manually reset your home page.
Be sure to uncheck the box that hijacks your home page. Otherwise you’ll need to go to internet properties (right click on your internet icon in IE to reset your home page to default). The game is otherwise a clean install. The default installation path is C:\program files\gametop.com\THE GAME
