Today I have an original nintendo game converted to flash, and I have a remake of it that you can download. The game is the legendary Kung Fu. The flash game will need to be played in a browser and I included it to show how well of a job the developer did of re-creating it with much prettier graphics and sound. The remake is aptly titled Kung Fu 2. As I was growing up, I wasted countless hours in front of my TV dying in Kung Fu. Kung Fu is one of my top 5 favorite games for NES.
Kung Fu Flash Version
You'll need lightning-fast reactions to knock out the Knife Thrower, stop the Stick Fighter, and trip up the evil Tom Tom Brothers in this action-packed martial arts contest! Are you sure you're tough enough? It'll take all of your strength and skill to master the moves, beat your opponents and rescue the fair Sylvia who's held captive on the top floor! The action is non-stop, and just when you think you've got the enemies licked, there's always a Giant, a Snake or a fire-breathing Dragon to contend with!

Kung Fu is one of those frustratingly hard games that few have managed to master. Don't give up on this one. You will die and you will die many times before even finishing the first level. There's just something about beating the crap out of baddies while trying to save my woman that appeals to me. This isn't a true conversion of the game because in the original the enemies were almost non-stop. Kill about 10 of them on this one and you're ready for the boss.
Z = Punch
X = Kick
Arrows = Move/Jump/Crouch

Kung Fu 2
Now this is more like it – more chock-socky action than Jackie Chan could shake a nun-chuck at.
This game is an update/remake of the original 1984 arcade game Kung Fu (also known as Kung Fu Master).
Taking on the role of a guy intent on rescuing his girlfriend, the game has you kicking, punching and jumping your way along parallax scrolling corridors beating 8 pints of blood from anyone that gets in your way, before coming face to face with a boss character. Beat the boss, rinse and repeat until the ordeal is completed. And it is an ordeal. The game is hard. Very hard. It’s not that the enemies themselves are hard, it’s just that there are so many of them. You can’t walk more than 3 (videogame) feet (approx. 27 pixels in new money) before being assaulted left, right and centre by goons, dwarfs, knife throwing psychos, dragons, snakes etc.etc. all determined to spill your claret before you spill theirs.
This remake/update is pretty much a carbon copy of the original arcade and NES game, although sports nicer 16-bit styled graphics and sound. The new fireball throwing ability doesn’t enhance the game to any great extent other than making your attacks more powerful, altough using them against non-boss characters is overkill.
The music fits the action perfectly and the sfx are suitably meaty and solid. No complaints in this department.

The game starts in a windowed version but can be changed in the options menu to full-screen. You get the controls once you've started the game...almost the same as the other one actually:
Arrows = Move/Jump/Crouch
Shift/Spacebar = Punch
Control/Enter = Kick
I hadn't made it to the fireball yet that the quote mentions so I don't know what the buttons are for it. In true Kung Fu fashion, I died many times before reaching the boss. I did notice one bug in this game. If the enemies in pink "capture" you, simply alternate the left and right arrows and it will kill them instantly. If you don't, they will kill you rather quickly. Overall, a good solid remake of a great game. I give a 7/10. By the way I absolutely love the sounds he makes when he's kicking and punching.
