Today I have gathered 4 great educational games for young children (probably 3-10 at the oldest.) I feel our younger audience is getting left out here, so for those of you who have young children, this will be your day. The first game is an all around educational game called Sebran's ABC. Sebran's has a total of 12 games for our youngsters to utilize for their ever-growing brains. Next is PacWriter. PacWriter is a spin on PacMan in which the player uses their typing ability to outrun the ghosts and collect all the tokens in the level. MatheMagic is a platforming math game where the player controls a wizard. The last game is another mathematics game called Times Tables.

Sebran's ABC
It's never too early for your child to become familiar with letters and numbers. Sebran's ABC's colorful pictures, pleasant music, and gentle games teach letters, numbers, simple math, and rudiments of reading.
The program teaches using either Afrikaans, Bahasa Indonesian, Breton, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Icelandic, Italian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Samoan, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Turkish, Swahili or Swedish (in Swedish, the droll zebra gracing the main screen is called "sebran").
The six simpler exercises display four possible answers. Choose the right one and it becomes a smile; an error gets a frown and a chance to try again. The How Many? counting game introduces the numbers from 1 to 9. These are used in the Add, Subtract, and Multiply matching games, which each function at two levels of difficulty. In Pick A Picture, one of four pictures matches a word; First Letter offers four possible letters completing a word. Your child can employ the skills gained in these exercises to play Memory, Word Memory, or Hangman. Finally, the ABC Rain, Letter Rain, and 1+2 Rain games help train little fingers in using the keyboard.
You can enter your own word lists to use in the Hangman game. Just create a text file in the Sebran program folder (usually C:\Program files\Sebran), called hangman.txt, where you enter one word or short phrase per line. You can use Notepad to create this file. The next time you run Sebran, this list will be used instead of the built-in lists. A maximum of 200 words or phrases can be entered.

The first thing you notice when playing this game is the superb looking graphics that are a real joy to look at. This game is really aimed at children and helping them with there mathes in a fun way. You are a cute looking wizard with a wand and your task is to add the numbers to the sums that are on the screen so making them correct. You have a wand to freeze the bad guys what then allows you to grab a number then take the number to the sum and jump and realease it. The more sums you get right and the more levels you complete the higher your grades will go. There are different worlds for you to visit and every time you complete a level the sums get harder. This game is great helping young folk with there Mathes and makes it a game that is a must for download.

Times Tables
Times Tables contains 4 miniature games for your child all about math. The first game is called Roadhog and is basically a frogger clone, which your child will steer the little creature towards the corresponding color that matches the answer to the question. This may be a little confusing at first for your child so you may need to sit down and explain it to them first.
The next game is called Rubber Duck. In Rubber Duck, your child has to aim a ball at the corresponding color to the correct answer. Once aimed correctly, the player then clicks to throw the ball at the duck. This game could possibly help your child's hand eye coordination as well as mathematics skills.
Next is Rattles. In Rattles, your child will have to feed a hamburger to, the corresponding color of the correct answer. Your child will have to be quick though, because the hamburger disappears if you take too long and you will lose a life.
Last is Lost City. In Lost City, your child will have to guide the explorer to the corresponding colored gem of the correct answer. I didn't much care for this game, but your child might.
In my opinion, the best part of this game is that it keeps track of how your child is doing on each level of arithmetic and grades them. You, as the parent, can print your child's results kind of like a report card for your proud child to show off.
