Today’s game is called Casino Islands. Casino Islands is a blend of puzzle/casino games. You play as a penguin that, for some reason or another, is trapped on islands trying to get to a boat that takes him to another island to get stuck on lol. Each island has empty spaces between the land that you will have to fill with big blue chips. Sometimes, the only way you can get from one piece of land to the next is to drop your own chips by pressing the action button. The object is to not only get to the boat safely, but to collect tokens and playing cards along the way. There are also casinos on some of the islands where you can play a rather fun version of poker called solitaire poker, greed which is kind of like blackjack, and hi or low. I had quite a bit of fun playing the poker game, but I found the other two to be rather easy to win at. Poker is easy to win at as well, but I believe with this game it is more about how much you can win as opposed to if you can.
The first time I fired the game up, I was very pleased with the sounds. The graphics aren’t half bad either. The game started in a windowed mode but I easily changed that in the options menu. However, I did have to restart the game for this to go into effect. This game will probably only appeal to a select few out there, but if nothing else I think this game may be good for kids. Be warned though, you only have a few lives and you’ll have to start over. The puzzles are hard enough to keep us grown-ups challenged. Overall, I give the game a 7/10.
