   So okay, it's a weekend game, not a weekday. :)

   Empyreal Nocturne is a game developed by DigiPen Institute of Technology in Redmond, Washington and a finalist in the IGF 2008 Student Competition.

   <i>Empyreal Nocturne is a third-person aerial action game in which you combat enormous flying monsters by commanding a legion of birds. The monsters are comprised of connected orbs, which are fiercely defended by birds of its own. All of a monster’s weak points must be destroyed in order for it to be defeated. You play as a god bird with the power to convert birds to your flock, and then command them to attack, defend, or sacrifice themselves for you.</i>

   New games for freeeee are always well received, though I am astonished to see a new name under this topic.
   A lot of great games come from digipen.edu, will you please tell us some more of Empyreal Nocturne, of the background, the physics and what does it make special?

   notblocklox is correct that there are lots of games (227 currently) at digipen.edu and many of them are worth trying. One thing that differentiates this game besides having a somewhat unique theme (as do many of these student games) is that it was a 2008 IGF Finalist. Only about 10% of the games were IGF Finalists. I did a search for them and here is what I got: https://www.digipen.edu/?id=1170.    I run XP....that's good, because I don't think this game will work on Vista, but then I won't have it, so I don't know!
   Might also be able to program my game controller for it, those keyboard controls look a little overwhelming at first.....

   For anyone interested in downloading Synaesthete mentioned above, the size of the download is 89.7 MB with an installed size of 206 MB - there doesn't seem to be any mention of sizes before you start the download; either that or I simply didn't notice them.

   Incidentally it also installs DirectX 9.0c.
