Today's game is a 3d Flight Simulator called Driller. Some of you may remember this title as an arcade game in the mid 80's called Freescape. The following is the author's description of the game:
"Pilot your excavation probe, through eighteen platforms that cover the moon of Mitral. Find where to drill in each region to release a minimum of 60% of the gas trapped beneath. Beware, all is not what it seems...
"Mine at least 60% of the gas from 16 levels To release the build up of gas. Failure todo so will mean the failure of your mission and the destruction of Evath.
INSTRUCTIONS
"Use the mouse and the W, S, A, D keys to move around.
The mouse button fires your laser.
V - Deploy and retract the Mining Probe
R - Raise your vehicle height
C - Lower your vehicle height
SPACE - load your PDA (in game options/ save load games)
F5 - Remove the HUD
Controls are redefinable in game.
"Use your in built radar to find the optimum mining position in each level. The radar will flash quicker the nearer you get to the drilling position.
"Be careful of the built in security features in some of the levels.
"Driller Remake is another good remake of the original game back release in 1986.You will be thirlled by the wonderful graphics and sounds in the game. You control a ship that need to mine for harmful gas in a total of 16 levels. Game controls are quite standard of a space craft and can be redefined. There are some secrets along in this game like trons & rudy. "
The author's page provides the download and screenshots all on the same page. The author has also provided an instructions link that not only helps you play the game, but also tells the story for you. Compared to yesterday's download, this 21.9mb zipped file is much easier to swallow.
