Today's game made me realize I miss a decent time management game. This today is a bit too simple for my taste.
Any suggestion for free games I could be interested in?

Hi Sema,
What are your tastes? I've got a lot odf games to post over the next couple of months, but if you can be more specific I'll see if I can find something suitable; though no promises. :)

Stephen
Something to do with animals or producing food sounds good, but I am fine with something else also if the game mechanics is solid. Commercial games I bought and liked include Wildlifepark 1+2, Zoo Tycoon 1+2, Transport Tycoon Deluxe, and a few other older games which I have forgotten about. Current hot fav in my family is Simutrans (which is freeware), but I personally think getting finances there into the black is a bit more difficult than I like, given the lack of advice inside the game. My husband loves it though.

For those interested as I was, Simutrans looks similar to Transport Tycoon. You can find it here: http://simutrans.sourceforge.net/
The Simutrans Wiki Manual is located here: http://en.wiki.simutrans.com/index.php/Main_Page
Another similar game of interest to those not aware of it might be OpenTTD (Open Source clone of Transport Tycoon Deluxe)which can be found here: http://www.openttd.org/en/
A little caveat for Open TTD though: The game installation expects you to have the graphics from the original Transport Tyconn Deluxe. Otherwise it is very close in gameplay to TTD, whereas the game mechanics of Simutrans are different. If you're interested in it and know TTD, be careful to read the explanation of basic dfferences between those two versions in the Simutrans Wiki.

Thanks for the clarifications Sema.
She is absolutely correct. You do need a copy of Transport Tycoon to play OpenTTD. If you like that sort of game (somewhat like Railroad Tycoon) and are OK with older games that don't have modern graphics, it is a great classic game. One place you can get it for $5 + shipping is: http://www.softwareoutlet.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=5775
Also, here is the location of the FAQ discussing differences between OpenTTD and Simutrans: http://simutrans.sourceforge.net/openttd.htm
