Ah! We lived in So. Calif. 32 years.. first LA area: Glendale, La Crescenta, then moved to North San Diego County and lived in Vista, CA 'til we got tired of the traffic. Now we're in the mountains of North Carolina and love it here.
Well, better get some work done so I don't have to be distracted in the AM when the 2 grandkids come over, then they take over my computer! We've got them Mon. - Wed. this week.. nite, nite.

Wow.....more new faces...er.....names. Welcome to the forums all folks!
Paulga....just wanted to let you know you're not alone with the counting thing. I count too but in a different way. Like I count the steps when I'm going up or down stairs or when I'm just walking. I also count ceiling tiles in the dentist/doctor's office, and telephone poles, garbage cans and other things as we're driving etc. Just weird stuff. Sometimes I don't even realize I'm doing it at first. So you're not alone in being weird.
Like the tree that falls in the forest...if you do weird stuff when no one's around to know, is it still weird?

Hello to all the new faces! Seems to me that the average age seems to be around the 50's if I'm not mistaken?? But, so far, I'm still the OLDEST! LOL
BK.. not weird at all, I think a lot of people do things like that. The main place I remember (since you mentioned it), was counting tiles in the ceilings! I don't count telephone poles or anything like that.. so you're not weird, just 'unique'?

Merri.......yep i noticed the 10 year gap in our age,....well it will be in August? But that adding up the score!,...i do it all the time,...and Buckleysmom as well, AND copmom,..well with tiles and steps,...me also?....but i found myself counting lumps of coal as i was putting them in the fire, sprouts as i was getting dinner ready,Bricks on walls, one of my dogs had fleas, i counted how many i combed out and squashed,.....gross..i know,...then i treated the dog,...could not miss out on the counting?,....when i had to do sentry duty i counted seconds in a week, month, year? perhaps it all comes from my parents who were always counting MAGPIES,...you know,...one for sorrow, two for joy, three for a wedding, four for a boy, five for silver, six for gold, seven for a secret never to be told,....there i go again?

Well...Now that i'm 18 days into this thing...I can say 'I've lived to tell'
Of course it did take the full 18 days to fully recover. And I did call my boss 'mommy' for the first 5 of those 18 days. The details are foggy and muddy....Wait! There actually may have been mud in there somewhere! I dunno for sure. Hmm...I'll wait another 10 years and tell you all about it.
That is if I can piece it together and embrace my new 30's in the same way I did my 20's
