Maizey......Oh man......it's been even a longer time since I've had to go to a laundromat. Fortunately Dad & my brother live only 4 miles away so if I ever have washer problems I just go there. That was a good one.
Why can't they just make it so forums use all the same tags as websites....sheeeeesh

delenn, sorry to hear that you laundromat experience was so awful. Mine was pretty uneventful and boring. Many years ago, when I lived in an apartment, I had to use them regularly. I hated it.
Next time you win, I'll have to give you a wallpaper or some other nice thing. What types of things do you like? :)
It's ok MD. I need the exercise. I just quit when it gets to be too much. :) Then I start where I left off.
I am like "Lady Gray". Star Trek and Sci Stuff. :)

Yes, I did. Thanks. In fact I got a link to it in my NY Times today. I have been debating to whether to download it or not. I seem to do more reading of other things instead of books any more.

I can't remember which thread it was in or who it was but someone asked about Whiterabbit cause we haven't seen him in a few days and others expressed concern as well so here's a message from the bunny ....

And it was me asking about the bunny. I just got my little new toy camera, must do some practicing with it. It has both macro and zoom built into it, if it works good will be so much easier than having to attach things to my other camera! Then maybe I can post something too... hubby and I have been looking around the house for things that might drive some of you crazy guessing!

Because the larger ISP's in CA now are enforcing HARD CAPS and it is near the end of the month. We can't afford a larger package so we have to watch what we download or upload so we are not cut off. It's a real PITA to have to decide what to download or not. Usually the last day of the month it is a downloading frenzy here if we have the spare bandwith.

@delenn13- oh. weeeel, no cap here, point me at it and I'll dl and set aside. a dvd-r to ca is only a first-class stamp. gary's in penn valley, do it alla time. or wait for spare bw and I'll host it someplace.

NNTP (Usenet) is capped by GigaNews to 5 gig a month per user. from reset on the 16th.
And while there's a storage cap on the web space I've never used, I truly don't know if there's a transfer limit. I should find out.
and the dvd-r's cost in addition to the stamp, but still.
funny (not!), terri and I have to look at money thay, aside from the use-it-or-lose-it. reset on the 3rd.

Goody, thanks for the offer but I think I will have enough this month to get it myself. If his PC crashes again, I got all the updates through "auto patcher" backed up and I have images etc. So unless GAOTD has a program in the next few days that is huge and we want, we should be OK.
The cable companies here have just figured out they really screwed themselves so they are back tracking. To go up against "Ma Bell" they offered higher speeds with soft caps(it was highly advertised in their forums) and have for years. Gee, a cable company that specializes in TV and movies...now offering internet where you can download movies and TV for free. Reality, what a concept? Now..they have found out people are taking advantage of those higher speeds and soft caps and getting their TV and movies through the internet and dropping their cable. Not to mention the monies they are spending on equipment/cable/nodes etc because of the bandwidth.
So now ..we got higher speeds but can only download so much unless you want to pay for a bigger package; and their packages are very limited and expensive.(And BTW they started enforcing those hard caps with NO warning..which has left a bitter taste in some people's mouth.)

me, miss a book? got it as soon as it came available, and I got the link in a newsletter ages ago.
I left crapifornia before internet was available without long distance, a harsher cap even at 14.4k than any broadband. email was through local bbs gateways. Vallejo, then. but I lived in hayfork a long time.

goodgotd .. that's a good one, "crapifornia". From there you seem to have gone down the 'drain'? We left there in '90 after living in So. CA 32 years. First we checked out Grants Pass, OR, found out they don't like CA lisc. plates! So, now we're in the mountains of NC, terrain like Oregon, but for some reason people keep thinking we're from Florida, and people here think of FL people about the same as Oregonians think of CA people! Only time you hear a horn beep, it has FL plates on it! They come up here in the summer to escape the heat down there.
