   I got 30 people coming to my house on Sunday..so kinda busy right now..BUT:
   Saw this on Twitter from Gizmo:

   Mach Studio Pro v2 is a 3D production and rendering app for Windows. Which basically means that, having created your animation and specified where the light is coming from, the program adjusts every frame of your movie to create the desired effects. OK, it actually does a lot more than that, but you get the basic idea.

   Typically, such programs are used in big-budget productions on very powerful computers. Which is why the software itself is rarely cheap. Until now.

   Studio GPU, the company behind Mach Studio Pro, has decided that it wants to "shake up the market". And so, a couple of weeks ago, it reduced the price of its product from $3,999 to $0. Yup, the full program is now freeware.

   

   While it's tempting to try out the program for the sheer fun of playing with something that used to cost $4,000, be aware that you'll need a pretty fast PC and graphics card to make the most of it. And with the download running to some 504 MB, you'll need an internet connection that can cope.

   Thanks for the info Delenn, my son may be interested in this package. :) I wish they would give away 3DSMax :) I always wanted to create some original objects for a battlefield map that I planned out a few years back. It was based around a Vietnam map with rice paddies, a village set on stilts near a large estuary fading out to jungle and low hills. I needed to build the buildings and bridges as the stock models were not suitable for the idea I had, but It never came to fruition. A friend was going to make the models for me, but he lost interest in Battlefield so it never came to pass. I still play Battlefield 2 and still have a hankering to create such a map. Even though the game is now a little dated, it's still a superb game that i know I'll be playing for many years to come, especially as there are over a thousand custom made maps for the game, so it's like playing a new game every time I try a new map. :)

   Haha, I was wondering why it kept freezing on my XP computer; (didn't bother to read any blurb). I'll have to copy it over to one of my Win 7 computers (or just re-download it). It would be cool if someone could create a freeware Win 7 emulator that enables you to run Win 7 only apps in XP (of course most of the Win 7 utilities would have to be absent)

   Please note MachStudio Pro 2 requires a DirectX 11 accelerator card with a minimum of 1 GB of on-board memory. The program will not load without the minimum requirement. MachStudio Pro 2 is the full version and not a trial.

   It also requires minimum 2GB RAM, 2GB of available disk space and a 1GB video card ... so it's for serious use, not for your run-of-the-mill PC.

   need a very Good video card & DX.11 ,I get if I get a new PC.

   If'n Ah had Win7 [shudder] I could run it fine. well, run it. Athlon II x2, 4 gb ram (3.5gb visible to XP, good enough reason to add a 2 gig stick of ram to the original 2gig rather than 1...), GT430 Dx 11 1 gig PCIe vidcard, half-terabyte hd...

   but buying win 7 is beyond my principals elastic limit.

   as a gift, now... that might work. not likely, though.
