There is no game giveaway later this morning (Saturday), so I though I'd post a couple of decent games to keep the gamers here satiated. There is however a decent game for Sunday. :) Isocraft will keep anyone who loves building type games occupied for hours at a time.
I purchased two copied of Minecraft, (which Isocraft was inspired by) and my son hasn’t stopped playing it every day since I purchased the copies months ago, (except for those days where he’s lost his computer privileges), though he’s also playing another game inspired by Minecraft called Terraria, (a 2D version) and even dipping into his old favorite Atmosphir (I should repost Atmosphir as it's changed significantly since I posted it two years ago). A very addictive game indeed. Will Isocraft be the same? I wonder.
Isocraft v0.04 (15.3Mb)
I was really surprised when I saw this one. It was inspired by the game Minecraft, which has made it’s developer a millionaire in less than a year. Isocraft lets you create your own fantasy world, build a house, fight monsters, craft pick axes, mine, cut trees, swim, choose your own character design. Isocraft is a 2.5D Isometric RPG and soon to be MMORPG. The main differences between Isocraft and Minecraft is that Isocraft is free. (that said one of the Minecraft modes is also free, but it doesn’t offer all that isocraft offers) and rather than moving around in a First person 3D world you work in an isometric (2.5D) world instead.
The game is just in a very early stage but the developers are planning on making a lot more features and even include an online element so you can play with your friends. Isocraft is coded in c++ with allegro 5.0. Apparently the developers plans for this project are pretty big . You can expect a lot of things added to the game as time passes but for now it's nothing more than an early preview.
