LOL I was just talking to my father about this.. he is a retired computer programmer/analyst from AT&T.. and he was telling me that he still has the Vic 20, tape drive, and the cable to hook to the tv still. He even things that the program that my brother and I spent an entire weekend typing out of a manual is on one of the cassettes. My brother is 3 years older than I am and I remember spending from a sat morning to a sunday night copying basic out of a manual for this incredible program. Typing 50-75 lines... saving on the cassette.. on and on. Then on Sunday night the big moment. We pressed play to watch that squared ball bounce around randomly (sort of) on the screen. Blue background and a blue-ish white ball. That was it, but we felt like NASA almost being able to do it and get it all right. BTW My father also said that he just a few years ago got rid of the Commadore 64, 5 1/4 " floppy drive, monitor, dot matrix printer, and 600 baud (I thought it was 800, but what do I know lol) modem.
I can't help thinking about all the fun those things gave me and my friends. Between that and the Atari we were ontop of the world! Thanks for letting me share and hope I brought a smile to someone else too!
