Hi castnet.
On the game side, no virus warning from a community member is ever removed. I always answer these, though sometime I will wait till later in the day once I've determined that it's a false positive because when virus warnings are posted by well meaning community members despite it having been shown to be a false positive, the downloads for that day are severely reduced. Basically just the mention of a virus scares many community members from downloading the program despite the giveawayofthedays exemplary record.
The game giveaway site has never had any games infected with malware since its inception back in December 2006 and the giveaway site had one instance earlier this year (Sound Frost) that has some vicious ad-ware that managed to get through the giveaways malware testing process.
They also used to run a freeware library that was linked to from the main site, which had a program uploaded way back in the second year of the project that was shown to have a virus. That was removed the same day. The freeware library was finally closed down early last year due to a lot of suspicious activity from some community members (posting links to sites with loads of ad-ware and other potential threats).
