   The Document that is displayed when you first install says:

   Is it FREE?
   The FREE EDITION comes with a limit of 3 Notebooks, and a total of 20 Pages per Notebook. Depending on how prolific a writer you are, this may be sufficient for some time. For others, purchasing a license removes these restrictions, allowing you to create any number of Notebooks and Pages.

   This is normal - and the same document (explaining the FREE EDITION) also appears when first starting the "LICENSED VERSION".

   After activating - the software should be shown as the "Licensed Version"

   Check this in the Help -> About Dialog. View Here

   The LICENSED Version will not have the "3 Notebook restriction", and will permit additional notebooks to be opened.

   The Instructions for using PageFour can be displayed by pressing F1 while running the program (or loaded separately from the start menu).

   I installed the software. I need to enter the license number in Help -> License. Could anybody give the license for page4.

   Make sure you are not running the PageFour program and run the Activate.exe program that comes with the download. When you next run PageFour it will be licensed.

   Help. I downloaded pagefour.zip and extracted it.
   When I run Activate.exe an error mesage pops up saying it can not access giveawayoftheday.com and I should try again later or check my firewall settings.
   What's wrong?

   EDIT: Perhaps the server was just too busy. After a few minutes I was able to reach the website.

   I'm kind of new to these downloads. I downloaded Page 4 and it came in a zip file. I unzipped it, it installed it into my program files, and asked if I wanted to run it. I said yes. It ran Page 4, and of course it says it's the free version with 3 notebooks. I see that you have to run active exe to get the registered version, and I have seen this mentioned with other downloads, but I never see any active exe. When it unzipps I cannot find an exe file in the Page 4 program listing--all it says is Page 4, Page 4 Help, Page 4 on the web and uninstall Page 4. Where would I go to find the exe file? And I wonder why I never see the download instructions that Giveaway always says comes with their programs? Anyone able to 'splain this to me? TIA

   I am having the same problem with Page 4. I cannot find the readme.txt file nor the active.exe file. Both seem to be missing and I have downloaded, removed and downloaded from both mirror sites. I have a setup folder but there is not a readme.txt or active.exe.

   Hope you can help.

   I just downloaded the files from the giveawayoftheday download page and they contain all the files needed including activation file.

   Lee, I checked your pics on photo bucket, and those files are not in my zip file. I am using Winzip Wizard which unpacks and installs the program. I went to my C:Program Files and opened the Page 4 folder. These two commands: Activate.exe nor the Key are there. Is there another way of checking for those files?

    Hi FoxyLady559. Instead of unzipping, right click on the zip file and choose extract here. See if that makes any difference. If it does you should see the setup.exe and activate.exe.

    Thank you. I used the Classic zip instead of the Install Wizard. That is probably the problem people are having, because the Wizard installs the program and leaves out the 2 files that are strategic to the program's registration.

    Hi. Thanks for the info on the Classic Zip. My problems was that I was running the wizard, like foxylady. So I removed page 4 from my computer, redownloaded, used classic zip, ran the acivate exe, then unzipped the install. The web page that said I successfully activated came up, but when I open page 4 it still says that I have the free, 3 notebook form. So am I just not seeing something, or not doing something right?

    Bring up the about box (under the help menu in PageFour) - That will show which version you are running (My first post has a link to a screenshot of what the licensed version looks like).

    Ignore the document that is opened in PageFour with the "Is It Free?" comment. That gets displayed for everyone.

    To further confirm try opening/creating additional notebooks. If you can have 4 open, obviously you have the licensed version.

    THANK YOU BuBBy. I opened the about file and it said registered version, and just to make sure :-) I opened 4 new books. Now I'll know what to do all the way through when I download another freebie!
