Amazon is having a $1.99 sale with quite a few titles I'd like. The only problem is I can't get the download to work. I thought it might have to do with Zone Alarm blocking it but I'm not sure how to tell ZA it's OK. Any suggestions?

can you turn it off while you are downloading?

Have you checked the Amazon site for troubleshooting download problems? Here is a link to that location.
One thing that bothers me about their site is that you have to buy these games one at a time. That is not a show stopper, but if I want several games each one will show up separately as a small credit card charge and I will get separate receipts for each one. I have checked with them and they don't have any shopping cart capability for their downloads.
BTW, this is a very large sale. They have 166 casual games for $1.99. A few I noticed were Puzzle Quest, all of the Samantha Swift HOGs, numerous Luxor and Build-A-Lot games, etc. They also have 191 core type at 75% off.

I'm not sure that Zone Alarm is what is causing the problem. It says it is activating the download thingy but nothing happens. When I try it again, it goes to another page which announces games for sale. It's very frustrating.

I cleaned out everything on my computer that said Amazon and reinstalled and activated the Game Installer and it seems to be working now. I don't like that I had to set it to run on start up since I very rarely download games from them but hopefully it's not harmful or using too much memory. I hope these games are worth all this trouble.

Glad you got it working Terri. Can't you disable the installer after you download the games? I haven't done it in a while, but I have several of their games that I got a year ago and I play without having the installer active. I was planning to get several of the ones on sale, but was turned off by their ordering and billing process (no shopping basket) so haven't done anything yet. I may try at least one to see how it works now and see how much I mind the ordering process.

I've their games and software installer on my laptop. I have to turn it on before going to download a game and it has issues about half the tiem. Their system is not the most efficient compared to other game portals. Clunky is the word that comes to mind.
I downloaded Witcher yesterday (on sale for $5.00 US) and ended up having to install it manually. While I was able to run the intro yesterday I'm not sure everything went 100% correctly. I've never played such a massive game. The file is huge. I feel something is bound to go wrong, lol.
It's a good sale though, I also picked up Grotesque Tactics: Evil Heroes and Super Granny Winter Wonderland. :)

I'm willing to bet money that Super Granny Winter Wonderland will be Sandlot's free game tomorrow. I'm surprised they didn't have it this week for Christmas.
After downloading one game I tried to do another and the installer isn't working again. It isn't worth the hassle every time to get a game from them. Most of the ones I was interested in are on Shockwave so I'll probably put the money toward a membership with them instead.

Ah well, but for $2 it will always be available there for me, it's worth it for a super granny game. I was surprised SGWW wasn't offered on BFG's Christmas game sale either which turned out to be pretty stingy sale compared to most sales I saw yesterday.
If you want to try again, I would try restarting your computer and then manually turn on the down loader. It's also possible their clunky system is overloading with this sale going on.
