For some reason I cannot log in here when I use firefox...
I had chrome before but have decided to go back to firefox because it allows one to effectively manage ones cookies...(and chrome really doesn't)
Chrome allows me to log in with no problem.
Same user name, same password.
grr...
Anyone else have this issue?
firefox?

Thanks Idunno, I leave the betas for the brave. Haven't got back all my beloved add-ons since the last version change ;)

I agree graylox. Of course you can always go to tools and hunt them all down again, IF they are compatible now.
I did do one thing recently.. I changed from Outlook Express to Mozilla Thunderbird for my emails. Outlook used to lock up on me quite often or got the message "not responding". Of course there is a learning curve for Thunderbird, but I take each step one at a time, and I was able to import my Outlook address book. So far it's working fairly smooth and quickly.Posted 14 years ago # -
Why not?

I really like Chrome but Firefox still does things better in many ways...so I have and use both again..

One board that I admin has discovered that the download area does not like Chrome. Chrome does things like reporting multiple download clicks when only one is done. Hanging when you try to back out of download and (how I don't know) registers downloads where the button is NOT a download button!
Since the problem was confirmed a few weeks ago, we have taken to recommending Firefox for downloads. We KNOW they work! Until we can do a major upgrade of the board software (and hope that the downloads has a new version to match), there's not much we can do about the problem other than warn the users.
I use Firefox! I object to the way Chrome installs. Yes, Kindle for PC does it similarly but Kindle is much more limited usage than Chrome.

I have dabbled with Chrome but Firefox is my browser of choice. Chrome is lacking some add ons I really use.
Speaking of add ons, Lady Gray, have you used https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3746/ Extension List Dumper? It lists all of them in a text file, gives url, prints and lots of info for all your extensions.
It will also list your themes and plug ins.Application: Firefox 3.6.12 (20101026210630)
Operating System: WINNT (x86-msvc)- Java Deployment Toolkit 6.0.180.7 6.0.180.7
(Disabled)
- Java(TM) Platform SE 6 U18 6.0.180.7
- Microsoft® DRM 9.0.0.4503
(Disabled)
- Microsoft® DRM 9.0.0.4503
(Disabled)
- Mozilla Default Plug-in 1.0.0.15
- PDF-XChange Viewer 2.0.57.0
- Shockwave Flash 10.1.102.64
- Shockwave for Director 11.5.9.615
- Windows Media Player Plug-in Dynamic Link Library 3.0.2.629
- Windows Presentation Foundation 3.5.30729.1
(Disabled)That is how I learned that MICROSOFT had the audacity to sneak some DRM plug ins in some of their updates. Needless to say, they have been disabled. :)
Plus I back my Firefox up with FEBE https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2109/
Good luck with Thunderbird, copmom. I got it to import my info but I couldn't get it to SECURELY connect. I Googled, asked in the forum..no answer. So, now, I am taking Eudora for a spin. Haven't used it since 94.

Yes, Ambassador, I list them, backup and save...., that doesn't help, when a really needed add-on is not compatible anymore. And as much as I have searched - I couldn't find any working alternative for: Resizeable Textarea. Well, I have to wait for 3.7 - then it's included.
Mr. B gave me the link to http://www.mrtech.com/
and now I'm exploring especially MR Tech's Toolkitgraylox

I just installed the FF 4 Beta 7, but it wouldn't allow many of my addons so I uninstalled it. The main thing they seem to want in this beta is feedback on things.

I had Opera a few years ago and loved it...it was having trouble being accepted by some web sites but was a joy to run.
Good that it is still around and doing well!Posted 14 years ago # -
