BuBBY, thanks for suggesting WinPatrol. Looks like a worthy program definitely worth trying.
Another one I like very much is WinAudit at http://www.pxserver.com/WinAudit.htm
WinAudit is not the same concept as WinPatrol as it's run on demand only. But it gives so much information and in an easy to read format. It's a stand alone .exe that doesn't require any installation.
I like it very much to check up on things and have even emailed its small .exe to friends and family members in other states who were having computer problems but weren't quite sure what was going on. In some cases they weren't even sure exactly what hardware they had. They ran WinAudit and emailed the report to me, this made it possible to easily spot problems and help them.
Considering you are a geek extraordinaire (that's a compliment) you probably already know about WinAudit but maybe others haven't tried it. It's another one definitely worth trying. Thanks again for the WinPatrol link!
