   I noticed recently that I'm getting emails when I get a PM. I get emails when I SEND a PM. I decided to check and the option is checked to "Don't email me when I get a PM". I get the emails anyway. Why is this option being ignored? What can I do to prevent these emails?

   Diane, we all have the same issue (as far as I know). We had discussed it shortly after the update of the site, nothing changed since then.
   Best you ask the GOTD Project Team.
   Send a PM to "admin", hopefully they will get a notification too ;)

   Dragonlair, I had mine checked and was getting the same unwanted/needed emails as you. I also found that unchecking the box, and clicking onto Update Profile (bottom right of page), doesn't work. When you go back to the page, you will see it's still checked.

   I get an email also (nobody is exempt). I use Mozilla Thunderbird as my email client, and I've just created a simple filter to redirect these notification emails to trash. (Still not sending them at all would be even better).

   When I receive an email seconds after I've sent a PM - to notify me what I have just done, will be very handy on those days when my short term memory is failing, or the evil BuBBy has taken control of the keyboard - I can read about the damage I've done later on.

   Incorrect server permission configuration or the GOTD people messing up the forum software with their modifications?

   For most forum software, the bane of admin's existence is permissions. Any time you think you've got them figured out, they find a way to come back and bite you! I'm an admin on 4 forums with 3 different software involved and they all give me headaches from time to time (even after 6 years).

   BuBBy, Yahoo will let you do that, too. I probably won't bother with it, since I don't get many of them.
