Spirit of Wandering: The Legend ---- Problem

I can't find a thread here in the forum area on this game so I'm starting one.

I reported a few problems when this game was offered last Sunday. First I had problems where it would not start properly. A re-install fixed that (not a re-download, just a re-install).

Then I have a time problem. It's fine actually playing the game but going from map to "room" or vice versa takes 10 - 15 seconds and it takes almost 5 minutes when I complete a section to get to the "bonus round".

However, the major problem is one I want to know if anybody else has found. I have reported it to Playrix.

The description mentions an "Advanced Mode" once you complete the "Story Mode". Huh??? I completed the game and I cannot do anything. There is just "play", no play advanced or play story. Once there, it just scrolls the "Congratulations" message and that's it.

If I try to delete the user and create another one, it shows the book at the start with the "Congratulations" behind it. When I get it to show the first 2 locations, it goes back to the main menu if I click on either one.

Even with a new user, I'm stuck. No advanced with the old user, no play with a new user. What good is a game that you CANNOT (even with a new user) play again???

Has anybody else seen this?

I played it a couple of times on one computer, and got the Story/Advanced Mode options. I just pulled it up on my computer and got only the New User name box, with no playing options. When I first played it, I got the game from GameHouse's free games list (I think that's where I got it from). Sometimes just where you get a game from can make a playing difference.

Yes you can get it from both MyPlayCity and Gametop, though Gametop has become increasingly aggressive, with popups appearing even with my pop up blocker activated, plus gametop games are increasingly using toolbars and home page hijacking, though thankfully they aren't forcing you to install thse yet (like myPlaycity used to)

I checked with a friend and she had the same ending effect - no way to continue after you free the last character. She was able to create a new user and continue so I decided to try a brand new name.

I discovered the trick - exit the game and then re-enter. THEN create a new user and you can play again (as a new user).

However, with no advanced mode, it still makes no sense for you to have the final bonus round if there is no advanced mode - what are those last coins for. You don't even know how many you got!

Dragonlair, I just did some experimenting, for this game. Out of 3 sites that offer the game the only one I've found that actually shows 2 playing modes - Casual Mode and Advanced Mode - is the one GameHouse offers, on their free games list. That's kind of a bummer, really, because in order to have both options you have to go with the one with the ads. I will be playing that one, though, for the 2-options reason. Actually, when you first start playing the game, you have to start with Casual Mode, because the Advanced Mode is locked. After you complete the Casual Mode, the Advanced Mode will be unlocked so you can play it.

Thanks for the info. I'm not gonna go for the ads. I just looked at the description from last week. The actual game description did not say there was an advanced mode, that was in Stephen's review.

However, it kind of stinks that we were offered the $19.95 game but got a limited version. We're not supposed to be offered limits, we're supposed to be offered the full product!

The game was the full product, but it must have been an earlier version. Still, what we get is for free.

Yes it's free and once you learn the tricks you can even work with it. It just sounds like bait/switch. They offer us a "full" product but it's not what we think it is so we not only go to their site to buy OTHER games, we have to buy the one we thought we got free. Tricks like that (without telling us up-front) are more likely to drive people away from their site than draw them in.

If they had said up-front that it is an earlier version of the game, I wouldn't have a complaint at all. It's hiding the limitations that bothers me.

I just got some answers back from Playrix. They're still wrong but they do admit to the problem. They say the solution to the play again situation is to re-install the game. I've already proved that is not necessary - all that is necessary is to exit the game and when you re-enter, you can create or use another ID.

They say the reason is because it was originally developed by a different company. They say the problem will be fixed "soon" by their developers. There was no promise I would receive the "fixed" version and still no mention of the advanced mode. They say the corrected version will have an option to create a new player and play again when you complete it.
