   I find it necessary to rebuild my system about every 6 - 8 months to clean out the 'garbage' left by old programs or programs incorrectly installed. Is there any way of backing up the Activation status of various programs. Would copying all the files of a program directory be sufficient or perhaps some key or branch in the registry?
   Any ideas?

   Hi and welcome to the forums labelmicro.

   When you are speaking about GOTD software, the answer is NO, there is no legal way to reinstall.
   Please read the FAQ.
   You'll find already a lot of discussions to this topic here in the forums.
   Other programme developers have their own rules, I'm sure you got them with your registration info when you purchased the programmes.
